Thanks for the comments Systemcepe and mykle.
I don't have 1st hand knowledge with that hose diameter but if I had to guess, I'd go with the 1/2" size. Unless you want hose showing through the braid, you need sleeve that will fit over the hose and be as close as possible to its minimum expansion size. I used the 1/2" on FC's mb and there was a hair of hose show through. With a 5/8" OD, you should be golden with the 1/2" product. Incidentally, I went with the Tygon 1/2" ID - 11/16" OD rather than the 3/4" OD I usually use - I was trying to keep the hose as lean as possible. I will also say, use the clean cut techflex product or you will lose your mind trying to work with the standard PET sleeving. It will frey like a MOFO while trying to feed it over the hoses. Hot knifing the ends won't help either because then you won't be able to get it over the hose.
Project Update: Got the 120mm fan installed under the Raptors and proceeded with thermal testing. I'm pleased to report that despite an ambient room temp of 26°C, the buttoned up murderbox internal ambient temp topped out at 37°C. I think that's completely acceptable. The system is comprised of 2x 8800GTX's, 2x WD Raptors, and a QX6700. S.M.A.R.T. is reporting the Raptors @ 35-38°C. Obviously the top grill will only work with a LC'd system. For those still a little nervous about airflow, Nils and I whipped up a modification to the backplate that will be offered along side the standard version.
The cutout will be down by the CPU and hottie bits and should do a nice job of providing further heat escape - not to mention tying in with the top grill.![]()
