I started this as a trail off from Here in an effort to not hijack that thread. This being the case, the thread is about mining litecoin, and configuring it, because I am having trouble getting my cards mining efficiently enough so I thought it would be beneficial to start a thread in case any...
BTC just broke $7 USD, that has not happened for quite a few months. :)
On a side note, i put in a pre-order for one or the BFL Jalapenos. Anybody else going to get the new ASIC hardware?
haven't been on here a lot lately, I know. Sorry about that, busy times...
Anyway, I found out about a little something called "bitcoin" yesterday. In short, it's an alternative sort of "internet currency" that has been around since 2009 (if only someone had mentioned it to me 1-2...
As title I need to change pools so am interested in what you other guys are doing
Wonder how this will affect prices if this takes off?
I am debating between selling at the current price or waiting till the next difficult increase.
The next difficult increase is in about 7 days and it is predicted to be an increase of 18%.
A few day ago the predicted difficulty increase was 45% and 77% a few days prior to that.
Downsizing from an army of HD 5830s to fewer higher clocked and watercooled HD 5970s. Need a way to better direct the heat from these GPUs into my bedroom without the issues of insanely loud fans. So, I've got 4 HD Sapphire HD 5830s to liquidate to start with. PM if you're interested, they'll go...
I just changed to the cgminer and have noticed a decent increase in production.
My daily production went from 1.37 BTC to 1.46 BTC just by changing to the cgminer.
That is a 6.5% increase in production.
anybody else have a new favorite miner?
I have been looking for a Bitcoin calculator that took into account difficulty changes and could not locate one, so i decided to build one.
BTC Mining Calculator
This is my first pass at is, so it might not be 100% accurate.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Think of a feature...
Pretty please! Will donate!
Want a private, DDoS (or other interruption) free pool just for our elite team. :toast:
I figured this may be the best place for this post since there's a higher chance of others here running into the same type of config. If wrong area, please move. ;)
Ok, I've been 'playing' with BTC mining for a bit, though historically I only had a single gpu on a MB. I now have a nice...
seems to be 1690895 now what was it before 1563xxx I think, so maybe a few folk did give up after the price crash...It certainly seems that fewer people are joining.

Hey guys, it's been fun but GPUGrid is calling my name. My GTX480 just can't do enough on BitCoin to make it fun of me, so I'm finishing off with my current BTC and going back to GPUGrid. Within the next few hours I'll have 5 BTC to sell, as I'm in South Africa my only option for payment is PayPal....

1. Go to http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads and download the Windows Version.
2. run through the set up, its pretty straight forward.
As above really, heard about it a while back, had a quick go on me 4870X2, but kept giving failed work units (or whatever they're called) and I couldn't be bothered to look into it
However, I've started playing eve, and apparently you can pay in bitcoins, and I'm upgrading 2 pcs gpus anyways, so...
Could somebody please offer a better explaination of the economics of using a Bitcoin to purchase physical goods? Or how something generated for free can acquire value and be traded to real money.
All the online videos and text (I have found) explaining Bitcoins offer nothing to the economics of...
It's always fun showing off what cool toys you have. Feel free to brag a bit and show off your farm or lonely GPU and what clocks and MHash/s you are achieving.
I'll start off with my first GPU.
HD 5670 @ 900/1000 churning away at ~85MH/s in Ubuntu 10.04 x64 with the v2.1 SDK and AMD 10.12...
You know how mining in a pool is supposed to be better than going it alone because the odds are you will find the block quicker?
Well, I've taken pity on these guys (at a personal cost) and thrown in with them to help finish a round that has been going for nearly 15 days
I just hope I get the...
I have been watching the price fall and have been wondering why do people sell at such a low price?
The volumes seem to be holding up no matter what the price is. I don't get it
