Well, I now have the murderbox in my possession without the need to bring "muscle".
As nice as the unit looks in these photos, it doesn't even come close to actual represenation when viewed in-person.
One thing I am very impressed with, which is hard to see in the photos, is the matching base powdercoat on all the parts, and how they work so well as a base to the black PCB of the Evga motherboard and graphic cards.
The Raptors, the braiding and all the silver components just "pop". All edges(cut via waterjet) are perfect and nothing was untouched. Even the power supply (as ugly a component as they are), looks like it was integrated perfectly.
Even the small touches not illustrated in the photos are purposeful and fit within the overall design theme in mind. Nothing looks like it was done as an afterthought- a huge challenge considering how much actual customization has gone into this product.
The one thing I think many of us who "customize" our machines should take away from this the lack of parlour tricks to impress. No CCFL overloads, LED Fans, crazy add-ons, etc.
I really think murderbox represents a shift in thinking for the PC customization scene. It really does represent a "No Compromize" approach. You can be assured that if you get a murderbox or a murderMod component, it will be amazing.
Charles/Nils, I can't thank you enough for the late nights & early mornings spent creating this work of art.
