hi guys,
im going to be getting a G0 in a few days and slowly putting my machine together. i will be using the DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS as well.
i have a couple questions about memory.
should i get 4x1gb or 2x2gb?
i am thinking of DDR1066 mem, what are some good models i should consider?
thanks everyone!

Check www.NCIX.com, they have a lot of variety in memory.
As for you, my fellow Torontonian, I've seen the P35 do some nice stuff with a lot of varieties of RAM. I would try to poke around and find someone who's used some on your specific board and see.

Check the Xtreme Bandwidth section.

I dont know about that - Unless things have improved since I last looked at 2x2GB I would have thought you will be able to get high overclocks with tighter timings with good quality 8500 4x1GB RAM and its dirt cheap at the moment. Benefits of 2z2GB are less load on the MB and extra slots but nothing uses more than 4GB at present unless you are into serious CAD/Video. I wouldnt waste money when DDR3 is going to be the future. Most current games dont need anymore than 2GB .Take your pick of the 2x1GB kits as long as they have D9GMH chips which are great overclockers - http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/ get 2 of them if you have vista x64 as it will make use of it. Waste of money if you have Winxp cos it cant use anything above 3GB and the operating system doesnt need it. I like my ballistix 8500s and crucial have good support/RMA service but there are plenty others that clock just as well and have good support.

i was actually going to get the same Ballistix 8500 as you have in your sig since there is a rebate for the next few days.
i will only be using 4gb anyways on XP 64
WOW! This is what im talking about:

too bad they are the old kits. i wonder how the new ones do.
still on the fence about this kit though

what's better, more stable and stuff for a maximus formula, BIOS 505, using a q6600 G0:
my quad is at 3.6ghz.

I got the 'doubled sided' Ballistix 8500 and they are running at 1200Mhz with 2.14v and Performance Level 5-6.
So I have only good things to say about this RAM:

Does anyone know what is the max GTL voltage for the Q6600? Thanks.
My mb options go from +10mv and up.
I am at 4050mhz at 1.55V and +30mv, can get into window up to 4.2G but would be happy with 4.1G stable.

How high can I raise my PCI-E mhz to? Right now I'm at 110mhz. My specs are in my signature. I'm trying to get more out of my 8800gt and maybe more stability from my Q6600. Right now my Vcore on my CPU is 1.42v At 3600mhz my Q6600 is very stable but I would like to lower the voltage a little. The quad core complete Super Pi 32M every time. I don't use Prime anymore, it's overkill.
Anyway, just curious how high I can raise the PCI-E mhz.

I have a 1.30 VID Q6600 G0 too. I suspect this VID is your limiting factor.
I have been unable to get a stable run of Prime over 3 GHz with Vcores less than 1.4v. The heat generated with Vcore of 1.4v or more means running the fans faster and I choose to run at 3 GHz for less fan noise.
My 3GHz setup idles at 31 C and reaches 60 C with Prime95 using a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 heatsink.
Vcore droops almost 0.1 v at load on my IP35 Pro v1.1.

Has anyone tried a L804 chip?

XtremeSystems - we overclock and crunch you to the ground
I left the optimized files on three 3GHz P4 HTs. Ban me.
My friend has recently acquired a Q6600 G0 and is having similar problems on a P5KR (around 0.1v drop under load and >0.05v between BIOS setting and resultant sensor reading). I suspect it's his PSU as it's an old Antec 480W TrueBlue and only has a 20-pin connection to the motherboard.
Could you let me know what PSU you're using and whether you think this may also be contributing to your problems.
Thanks in advance.
Getting my Q6600 next week. I hope I can get it up to ~4GHz..
What Vcore do you all use for +4GHz?
There aren't many people running 4GHz 24/7, so don't get your hopes too high on this one. Even if you get lucky you'll propably have to pump some serious voltagle into the chip, so decent WC is a must.
And VID isn't a certain factor for a great OC, my friend is running a Q6600 with a VID of 1.200v (yes!) and he can't go above 3.7GHz on air due to temps because the chip starts eating big amounts of voltage.

I think alot depends on the motherboard. Whith a max formula my q6600 was never stable over 3900mhz at any voltage. 3900mhz was 1.5Vcore at 59C full load. Would not even boot into windows at 4G some times.
I now have a striker II formula and with the same ram, cpu and cooling I am running 4050mhz at 1.55Vcore and 45C full load. I am running 4125mhz about 6min OCCT at 1.6V and with some tweeks might get it stable. Can get into windows at 4.2G
