This stepping any good? L737B045..........I've been MIA for a long time but usually the lower the # the better.........fwiw it's on a maximus formula I just built and does 3.5 if i set it to cpu level up crazy.........this is on stock air btw. no crashes heat was an issue though, its toned down till i can figure out if i want to throw one of my water setups on it or one of my phase change units....

Am I hitting a record?
My First G0 (after a B3), L734A922, 3.6GHz 1.42vcore real

Not that bad... and rock stable even in OCCT RAM 9h
And now, my new L740B126
A very new batch, no info on google, I took a big risk, and, the result is...
Amazing, 3.6GHz benching at 1.296vcore real. Just small benching to look for the lowest vcore to get my 3.6GHz (I choose to set 3.6GHz on start than search for lowest vcore)
Keep you informed, but hey, already looking like to be a very good batch

chew*, that's the same stepping I have with the same VID I have.
I have L737B026. Priming at 3.8ghz w/ 1.46v after vDroop. I would expect yours to at least be able to do this.

Seems i've forgotten alot of things like how to take screenshots....

Asus board, right?
You could probably just start with eva2000's P5K Deluxe thread, as I'm pretty sure that Asus' P35 and X38 BIOSes are about the same.
Then there is the Anandtech Maximus Formula review with a page on the OCing options in BIOS.

This is as good an overclocking guide/review of the maximus as any - http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/revie...ng-review.html also has this link
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overc...s-p5k-add.html to a C2D P5K o/c guide which might help explain the use of some of the new BIOS settings if you have been out of the loop for a while. You may also find this of interest for improved R/W disk performance if you are thinking of a RAID setup using Intel Matrix Storage http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.p...d.php?t=467848

Ok, got it stable now, it's the L740B126
It is with open window for some minutes. At 24°C ambiant, it is as hot on 2 cores as with my previous L734A at same 3.6GHz but with 1.424 real vcore instead of 1.334v forr this one
So, despite the lower vcore, it heats quiet the same as a per clock reference. The delta between cores is up to 7°C usually. I'll try to reseat in few days with some MX-2, then I'll try a vertical mount of my WB. If nothing do it, I could lap it

Why dont you use prime for quads, all 4 cores will be used equally.

I hate Prime not showing the elapsed time without you stop it. You need to calculate it.
Orthos is Prime95 code, exactly. It is the enhanced GUI of Prime95. The load will be the same if the processes are adressed to seperate cores.
My L740B idle at 32°C for a same room temperatures where my L734B idle at about 25°C. I hope not to have to lap it
Otherwise these new batches are really astonishing. It is like if intel migrated all its production through the Penryn chain, thus the enhanced quality

It seems our chip is similiar L737B242 , except my vid is tad lower, 1.2125, and I am using Air , tho u are on water, temps looks like it isnt that much of a difference

so far, so good!
took it right up to 400FSB, put the volts on 1.3625 to start, which shows up at 1.30 in everest, 1.27 with vdroop..
I know it's only a few minutes.. I stopped it to try lowering the vcore plus I've gotta enable memory remapping yet as I forgot.
