    Silverstone Raven

I’m just going to start this thread with general information that usually gets requested anyways

    Silverstone Raven WORKLOG
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/2734171...7615770135803/

    Current hardware:
    Case: Silverstone Raven RV01
CPU: Intel QX6850 (up to 4ghz)
    MOBO: EVGA 790i FTW
    MEM: 4GB Super Talent Project X D3-1800
GPU: Custom Case Mod EVGA 9800GX2 with EK-FC9800 GX2 Nickel-Plated
    HDD: 4x 150GB WD Raptor X Drives, 2x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 1TB
    Vista Ultimate 64bit - Raptor X’s in Raid 0
    XP Pro 32bit - Raptor X’s in Raid 0
    Work/Media – Samsung F1’s in Raid 1
    PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX

    MON: Gateway 24” LCD
Server: HP MediaSmart EX485 (4.25TB Total)

    Water cooling Hardware:
    Swiftech Apogee GTZ
Radiator: Feser 240 (push and pull via S-flex F’s)
    Pump: Swiftech MCP655-B
    Reservoir:
Tubing: Tygon 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD
    Feser One - UV Black

    Photography:
    Camera: Nikon D300
    Flash (if used): SB-900
    Lenses: Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (Pro glass), Nikon 50mm F1.8

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I gutted my TJ-10 for a few reasons:
    -I’m impulsive
-Dust started clogging the PSU -> Caused the system to freeze
-Ungodly amounts of dust were being sucked in through the top (and I hate cleaning with a passion)

On a lighter note the temps were actually very solid (mid 30’s at stock).

Presently, I’m stuck in a small dorm room in San Francisco and all my tools are back in Minnesota so modding might be limited.

    Parts on order:
    EK-BAY SPIN Reservoir - Acetal
    Various Bitspower fittings

    Current thoughts:
I’m hoping to replace my GPU since I had a revelation that it was pointless since I don’t play PC games. lol
I hope the room I’m in can support the new power supply.
I haven’t seen anyone with EK’s new reservoir so it should be interesting.
I’m hoping to mount the D5 directly to the Reservoir but there might not be enough clearance.
I forgot all my sleeving supplies back with my CNC so I’ll have to order some more. (Maybe something from MurderMod)

I’m not sure where I should put a fill port…….any ideas? I’ve marked a few spots such as: next to the pci slots on top, on the side of the 5.25” bays, or on the plastic pointing towards the back of the case.

Very cool, I missed that thread when I was doing research on the raven. There are a few mods in that thread that I’ve done as well.

    Updates:
Security loop installed to prevent theft
PCI-E power cables have been routed behind the motherboard tray (tray had to be trimmed)
I had a revelation about how to manage cables behind the mobo tray…..Pictures will explain everything.

Pictures coming soon (Roommate is sleeping)

They are covers I use when I water cool to prevent any leaks from damaging the empty slots. They also work great as dust covers. I also have them covering the empty memory slots. I believe the brand I’m currently using is LampTron.

There are actually brackets that come with the case for mounting radiators to the back of the case. They are designed for triple radiators so I had to mod them…..

I've been wondering about the Raven and I'm glad to see you back Ben. If you need somebody to use your tools here in MN, just let me know.

Where are you going to install the rad?

    Finally some more picture updates!!!

Just a taste of what I have planned for cable management. What makes this setup unique is that the clips are screwed in, instead of being stuck on!

Fittings as they exit the case….

    Fillport location

Radiator test mount to demonstrate how it can be done. Please also notice the security loop above the power supply.

PCI-E cables routed through trimmed motherboard holes.

HDD Hot swap Cable and power cable for Antec Mult-Station Elite
I’m torn with regards to the hot-swappable cables. I love the idea of being able to swap out HDD’s but I don’t want my HDD’s connected via Molex connectors.
As for the Antec cable, i might use one of the sleeveing kits from MurderMod to make it a bit more presentable.

My order from Sidewindercomputers.com…… That was fast!!! I’ve just got to say….I love this new reservoir, it’s so choice.

In truth I never really left; I will always rely on XS for news, information, and inspiration.

Lol the CNC isn’t even running yet; just the drill press, vacuum press/clamping system, and computer control center are fully operational.
