The 5970 is a great card and it is two GPUs on a single PCB that uses Crossfire. I've seen some who seem to think because the two GPUs are on single PCB some how the card is now like single GPU single PCB product. It is not. It requires proper driver profiles to function correctly in games. A single GPU does not. If it doesn't have said proper profiles you may get worse than a single GPU performance because of it. You can go back to getting single GPU performance in those cases by disabling CAT AI.
If folks like MGPU they ought to wait and look at the 6950 or 6970 in Crossfire. If they scale like 6870 Crossfire currently is doing, they're going to be darn impressive. Of course there's always the 6990 as well.
