One things for sure. In Canada, the gtx 580 is the better deal as newegg.ca is still reflecting the 600 dollar + pricing and so is pretty much everywhere else in Canada while a gtx 580 is findable for around the 500 dollar range.

I would still wait, but I have a feeling that the 6970 is going to perform a bit worse than the gtx 580.
