Fitting on the rad came out really sweet-money looking, Kibbs. If I had TOIP (Touch Over IP), I'd push you back, reach in and kindly take that off your hands. Heh.
White came out awesome!

Sunday assembly, part 1
Got my replacement res parts from PPCS. Top + bottom.
I like the concavity, it directs air bubbles to the opening.
Here's the new bottom. Koolance has a newer version with only two holes but I asked PPCS and they didn't have them. This piece had some scratches which you can see. They come vacuum sealed from Koolance so I assume the responsibility lies with them, not the reseller. Same for the top, it was dusty and scuffed. Not a good show big-K.
Here's all four + the usual Koolance plug, which should be brass but ever since the steel plugs incident I don't trust them.
Comparing the two tops: Old one (left) no knurls, tough to grip. New one (right) knurled, much easier to unscrew.
Old bottom with screwed-in acrylic anti-cyclone plate.
New one with four isolated flow paths, no anti-cyclone since all new Koolance res tubes have acrylic plates glued-in.
Let's crack a cold one and get to work, this will take a few hours.

Sunday assembly, part 2
From design to reality: This is exactly the setup I had in mind for the cooling "module," down to every screw and washer. I'm very happy with the result.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves, and hope you enjoy them.
1) I may put in an anti-cyclone plate later if it becomes a problem.
2) Silver kill-coil is tucked into the vertical portion of the res inlet, completely out of view.

There's a "go-go gadget" vibe I'm totally getting on this. Wow, Kibbs. Seriously, very innovative!
Is there any room to back-to-front the pump so the power connector heads towards the fins of the rad?

Kibbler, you sly devil!
That is the kind of innovation I like to see!
Solid, hand-crafted, stylish, functional: it's all there!

Ahhh ... you're having a Stella, and I'm having coffee - you win!
A beauty - innovative, creative and genius all in one. What are your thoughts on the impact on cooling effectiveness by partially blocking the airflow out of the radiator? Have always wondered about that, even though I've run the XSPC res tops sitting in front of the radiator. Do you think it has a significant impact?
excelent taste of beer
oh and nice work you did on the rad, the pump/res/rad combo looks sleek !

That res/pump placement is a genius idea. This log never seizes to surprise me.

Thanks Flint, unfortunately there's no room to turn the pump around. The connector bothers me a bit (only a bit) too and I'm thinkin' how to work around it. But if I can't no big deal.
go mr. gadget go that's the name
Thanks Wezly
Thanks GK
Stella is yummm. I'm not a beer snob by a long shot but after a few weeks of Carlsberg or whatever I bought some duty-free SA from the airport. Mucho nicer!
Fans and such, I'm not worried about it for now. If it were a lower FPI rad then yeah, maybe there would be some impact. But the GTX is so dense that the air exiting the core will not be...how should I say, moving very fast I guess? Anyway, not worried about it unless performance proves otherwise. The res itself is round and I made sure there are plenty of gaps elsewhere, so I do not foresee a lot of back-pressure (is that what it's called?).
And thanks for you kind comment
Thanks Oli4v!
Hi, not sure what you mean by that...you mean is the cooling affected? No it's not.
Thanks mike!
I'm at work and I am also thirsty for beer lol......
