Try raising your cpu gtls some and lower your vcore.
Thanks Hoss, I let that run go for 2 hours small fft's. I have not changed anything yet but I am running a 2 hour OCCT Ram test to check NB/RAM settings for this fsb, if this passes I am lowering vcore or trying for 9x465 with the same vcore and settings. I do not know very much about GTL's, I copied these from user nkresho post #1135. He had the same VID/Mobo and bios so I gave it a shot. Why would raising the CPU GTL's help? I know GTL's are tricky but if you have a short answer it would help me understand what I am doing better. Thanks again!

Are there any others that getting 4GHZ or higher with this cpu and 8GB of DDR2 RAM? If so, can you let me know what mobo and what ram?

Ive found that once you find a spot with your GTLs on auto where it fails prime in a little over a half hour or so you can usually stabilize by tweeking your GTLs. Here is a great thread about CPU GTLs here, probably my favorite thread here. There is alot of good info in there. Good luck.
Sounds like a decent chip. Any stuck sensors?
Here is my 9650 at 4400 at 1.4v running 10+ hours of Prime small. Had to increase PLL to 1.56v and FSB T to 1.46v with NB at 1.42v but all is good.![]()
flesheatingvirus, awesomeclocks!what board are running your 9650 on in that last ss?i only ask cause it looks like pl7 at 498fsb,is that correct?its a little small(text) and having a hard time reading it.

Lol Viper thanks!!!
Nahh I'm just having some fun with the Extreme as well. My Cryo-Z is ready! Now I'm deciding which one to use first.
I'm back on the UD3P breaking stability/ram timings records at 4500Mhz.
UD3P&Q9650 - 4500Mhz stable under 1.40vcore and using aggressive straps and PL's and cheap Water Cooling coming soon
Of course. Intel just couldn't get the temp sensors right on these things. All four cores are stuck at 32-34C minimum. As far as the chip being decent, well I am lowering my vcore some tonight and trying for 4.2ghz on air. If this chip hits 4.2ghz stable on air I will be in love.

Thanks again. That is on a P5Q Deluxe and yes it is Pl7 though my fsb is 489x9 for 4400. This 9650 simply rocks and that is on its own water loop with a remoted PA 120.3 rad and fuzion block that is in 40 degree air so temps never get out of hand. I was actually surprised my self when I saw the temps after about two hours into it and I took the coretemp shot, just a slight increase in the Pll and FSB t at 1.4v and Prime95 ran no problem. The ram is Teamgroups new 1300 type running at 586 4-4-4-12 at 2.38v. This is the best Quad I have tested this month and should do over 4500.

My Q9650, P5Q3 Deluxe and G.Skill 4GBPI were on my porch last night when I got home from work. It was late so I haven't had a chance to play with anything yet. I did rip the heat spreaders off the G.Skills and they are Samsung HCF0 IC's.
I will post batch # and some quick results tonight on the P5Q3 Deluxe. I will get some results with the P5E3 Premium uploaded this weekend.
Hopefully I got a good chip![]()

Nice clocks at that voltage. I need a 1.34ish VCC for 445x9 IBT stable, but Im sure that I could bump up the FSB abit and stay stable. I have at least one stuck sensor too.
I want your ram. My board dosen't like 2 sets of my reapers and they dont clock well, anyways. When did you get that G.skill kit?
Got them from newegg in Aug 08

Very nice. I can stay stable at 4.05GHZ with my memory set to PL 7. I haven't tried it with PL 10. Perhaps I can hit 4.2 if I loosen up the memory a little.

Well you can run tighter tRD with X48 than P45 no doubt, but loosening tRD while working on CPU speed is never a bad idea.
On P5Qs w/ 8 GB, you pretty much have to run PL10 if you use 1:1 (for anything but low FSB).
5:6 or higher allows me PL8, but then i have to run lower CPU speed as the RAM only goes so high.

I'll post some screen shots and my batch number when I get home in a few hours. I only had a little bit to get it up and running last night but was running at 4Ghz 1.26vcore in bios no problem on my P5E3 Premium. I hope to get the P5Q3 up and running today.

Looking to grab at Q9650 to go in my Striker II Extreme 790i which I'm going to pair with 8GB's of Patriot 2000 9-9-9-24.
Seems all the batches available to me locally are L828A446...reading the first part of this post re batches it seems I want a B batch. Does it REALLY matter as getting a B is proving difficult.
Thanks guys. Need 4.0ghz with 8GB DDR3 RAM

More results to come shortly
EDIT:
UPS man just arrived. Be back shortly we results!

I've tried the 'Common Performance Level' PL 10 and it set my prime error back from 1hr to almost 2 - still haven't got it stable at 4Ghz - which i though was stable before
Bios 1901 for M (II) F
vcore 1.30625
PLL 1.55300
FSBt 1.25900
DRAM 2.09
NB 1.25900

1:1
FPO/BATCH# L820B033 - its an old one, pack date of 7.18.08 - the new one i got was packed 02.02.09 - L836B361 (still sleeping in its box)
Sounds like a RAM issue...
Probably not faulty RAM but I have noticed with mine that if I push my RAM to hard it can be stable one run then unstable the next after restarting then re-running the stability program.
I fiddled with my Channel A clock and command skews and adjusted PL and all good. Must admit it is a pain
