I think this board puts a little more vcore in by default than my old one did, so that might be the cause for the extra heat... I decided to take her up to bios f5e for s and grins... f3 seemed sluggish while in the bios menu and I dunno, it just felt like an early rev bios... Vista64 did remarkably well booting in the new env for the first time.. I only needed to reboot once, and didn't even need to use the gigabyte CD for any drivers at all. lol. it doesn't get much easier than that.

so I want to disable all of those extra cpu features like prochot and virtualization, etc right? the eclipse didn't have any of that stuff...

edit: so do any of you have dynamic energy saver enabled? does that makes the load LEDs light up while the mobo is active??
Which ggbt board do you have? Many folks myself included have found the f4x bios's to be better for oc. My bios settings for high oc below - if you are on air start with a lower vcore - something at or below 1.4 might be a good start. Good luck!
