Good idea, attaching a fan isn't a major operation either, especially with the metal wire clips Thermalright provides.

For the thermal compound, the instructions say to apply it to both the HR-05 and the chip, do you think only applying it to the HR-05 will be sufficient? Applying it to both seems like too much TIM will be between the HR-05 and the chip.
