Considering your PSU is an excellent model and I personally don't think it's the ICH9R, it could be the drives themselves. You made an interesting point about the ports on the board being faulty, that is a possibility but I haven't heard of anyone else having this type of problem. Regardless of the problem source, I hope you get your repaired drives back quickly.
