    So 4.2Ghz @ 1.36v is that stable.
That is sweet if it is, i would love to have that 24/7 in my system....

    Hi

    yep , i believe it was !

    anyone with Intel E8400 , E8500 or E8600 @ 4Ghz can run the Crysis CPU benchmark with 1680x1050 , very High , DX10 , 64bit Settings???

    Btw:

I will also test Far cry 2 and warhead ( they are better optimized for multi core CPUs )

    regards

nice one mascaras seems for your gaming test the only thing holding the i7 back is a ssd or maybe a WD v-raptor are you using the same hd on both setups. im getting the Gigabyte GA-X58-Extreme on monday so will report to see if there is any reason to go for the extreme over normal.

Have seen any problems with cold boots or such like or bios keep resetting even when stable. Do you think I should go solid state or v-raptor parts getting so far
I7 920 corsir 1600 8-8-8-23/24 and gigabyte extream this is for my gaming rig with gtx 260 sli might add a third when benchmarks come out if it's worth it.

If you can see anything from my 780i setup that you want message me or the lot will go on eBay when I finish work later

    Hi

i think if you go for SSD at this moment , the Intel SSD are the best (but they are not cheap)

But with a good RAID config you already get a very good performance !

right i have never done raid before. i would be looking at two samsung f1 750gb striped and then mirrored. i would need 4 drives then i would have my 1tb f1 for downloads and stuff could anyone point out a good raid control as onboard is always poor so i have heard. looking at spending £50-80 from scan.co.uk

    sorry abit off topic

That is ridiculous Such low vcore and your temps even at 16C ambient are pretty damn nice.

@mascaras...on the Gigabyte boards is there a way to save your bios config?

Again, thanks for posting your settings and results. Congrats on getting to 4.3GHz.

Grats Mascaras, nice setup you got there and this would also be the mobo of my choice as Gigabyte always delivers for me and with other brands I have very various results and the new colorscheme is kickass too!

It's nice to see the lowest binned part reaching this high clocks! i7 might not be spectacular for LN2 benching but it does deliver for air and especially watercooling users.

Very nice CPU, my 940 needs 1,386V to be stable at 4Ghz on an EX58 Extreme...
So you only raised the QPI/VTT voltage to 1,26V to get to 200 BCLK is that correct? No other voltages (except Vcore and Vmem ofc)?
Tried prime blend yet at 200? I seem to be stable at 182 BCLK using 1,2V QPI/VTT and 1,2V on the ICH Core.

quick question. i am still observing core i7 and try to make sense of a few things.

    1. the core multiplier is open? meaning can go from 0 - ?
    2. multi adjustment only open for 965 and the rest limited?

    3. qpi, i went thru a few good reads about qpi still have a hard time relating it to fsb. should i give up and just get used to the different numbers or is there an easy way to calc/ convert a fsb to qpi, vis versa?

btw, good clocks here. looks pretty capable that 920
