From all the reviews I've seen the 4870 takes less power at load and at idle more. More at idle is only because the powerplay or w/e isn't working properly yet except with msi bios. Which when it does will draw the same or less then the gtx200 series.
lol read my post... did i downplay the 4870?
i just pointed out that the 4870 is is not "the powersaver from haven" as so many people say... and still eats a considerable ammount of wattage, while the 280gtx beats it and consumes even more.

you review is the only review that show a difference of 70W+ so i consider that as the absolute worse case, since i dont play batchmark test all the time i look for/at "real environment tests".
Its nice that some people try to do reviews the "right way", but if i plug in both cards and in normal gaming situations the difference is 30-50W at the sockte its just that: 30-50W difference. Thats the difference i need to pay for.
