Yes you will definitely want to tweak your ram timing and voltage.
And yes 4x4x4x12 @ 2.2v looks on par. Make sure your "FSB strap"
is set to 400, it will allow your mem to be 1:1, and if your mem
won't do 4x4x4x12 @ 445mhz (890mhz) I would lower the FSB until
the ram gets stable. You'll loose a little MHz on the CPU but it's
worth keeping your ram timings tight.
Well I tried to set the RAM at 4x4x4x12 but no boot/post at that FSB although I was able to go 5x5x5x15 fine. After some more tweeking last night I was able to go to 450x9 with 1.325v idle (1.35v in BIOS iirc), 5x5x5x15@2.2v. I didn't however know about the strap so that is set to auto I believe. I did set the 2.2v for the RAM manually due to what you said earlier about some of the V-settings might be set too high when running on auto.

When I get home I'll try to set the RAM back to 4x4x4x12@2.2v again with that strap. If it's a no-go then I'll start lowering the FSB in increments to get a good config.

In other news, I did also notice that even on "stock" settings, for some reason I couldn't ever get past about 10 or so minutes in Prime95. So I know I'm missing something here. Although I must say that even though it hasn't been Prime95 stable (even on stock) I have had no issues when playing any games for hours periods. Not to mention while playing games at the OC settings my temps in RealTemp never went above 43c. I guess my games aren't as much of a load as I thought. Granted the junk VidCard I have doesn't help.
