So, when I first got this board I was under the impression that there was no aftermarket MOSFET cooler and thought we all had to wait for the Thermalright HR-09 Type 3. While I came sick of waiting I went to Thermalright's website and see what is going on.

While poking around it says on their compatability chart that the HR-09 S TYPE 2 works on the I/O side MOSFET. Have I been waiting for no reason or is this a mistake? Really want to get this under water quick

I had that error only 1 time! After that i had some random crashes/BOSD's.

In my case, Memtest report some errors on test 6 and 7!

Try to run memtest to see if u've any problem with your memory.

That wouldn't solve the problem if its in random situation.

Last time i was running 24/7, and in the morning when i come to pc had a BSOD, i reset and couldnt boot to windows anymore, i went to bios and some screens are in red , and some strange caracters .
I press load defaults and save and couldn't boot anymore, C1 Error.
    All both sticks were dead.
The first time my ram was at 2,4v and TeamGroup are rated 2,3/2,4v, but this time was at 2,1v.
    Even my raid0 was lost

As DFI has pushed back the shipping date for all X38 boards a few more days it looks like I may have 4 or 5 days to use the GSkill 2x2GB sticks in the P35. What testing mythology is going to satisfy you guys that are interested in how this board runs 2GB modules.

I have a limited amount of time to spend doing this as I have other commitments so we need to come up with something that will allow for a maximum number of configurations. If I'm going to do 8 or 10 hour runs of Prime I may only be able to post one or two different setups depending on other things I need to do.

Also what memory/board combinations are we interested in? Maximum memory speed, top stable system speed and let the memory fall where it needs to run or maybe a balanced combination of strap, cpu/memory speed and FSB.

So I guess we need to come up with something that is satisfactory to base a buying decision on that won't take a lot of time.

In an email several weeks ago that is what Thermalright had told me. I had not posted anything as I have no first-hand knowledge. I'll have some this week and will give it a go and post results.

It would if one used a meter with a min/max recording feature.

As far as it looks the MCW-30 fits on the NB and SB. I have two MCW-30's sitting here waiting to be put on. Dont know if I will worry about WC'ing the SB. I think I will just put an aircooler on teh SB.

The MCW30 works perfectly on the NB. It fits on the SB as well, but it looks crooked. The DD Maze4 looks better on the SB.

Keep in mind that if you put a WB on the SB, you will be prevented from using the 2nd long PCIe slot. The waterblock will be in the way.

    Cheers!

Thanks for clearing that up Cascades. Love the work on your case :p

Can you comment more on the crooked statement on the SB? I am still debating wether to WC SB or not. If it does not make proper contact makes my decision allot easier.

I added a picture of the NB and SB water blocks to the above post.

If you use a MCW30 WB for the SB, it doesn't sit straight. It makes proper contact ok, but it looks weird on the board because it sits on an angle. That's why I used the Danger Den Maze4 WB instead. Quoc, from Petra's, sent me a bunch of waterblocks to try out and these are the two that worked and looked the best.

If I had a board to plug into the 2nd PCIe slot, I wouldn't be watercooling the SB.

How about the PWM area? Won't it be bare since you took out the heat-pipe?

EDIT: Ooopss...my bad. It's the LT version. Sorry.

Smart Guardian reports the PWM Temp to be 38*C, for what ever that's worth. There was a guy on here a month ago that was going to make up some PWM waterblocks. He has since disappeared.

Got a great deal on a Silverstone TJ-07 case, now what to do with it?

All this discussion about water cooling has led me to take the plunge on a Silverstone TJ07 case. I got it on ebay tonight for $105 USD plus shipping of $89. These cases are only so-so with air cooling, but are perfect for a water cooled system. So, you know what is coming in my New Year

For now it is a matter of research and discussing what other people are using, so I end up with the best result. Would love to hear from other members who are water cooling their DFI Lanparty UT P-35 motherboards (particularly in this case) for suggestions, feedback, etc.

Whilst on the subject of water there is a thread here somewhere about the D-Tek fuzion & the newly available nozzle kits. There is a quad core nozzle together with a new upper chamber o'ring available that most say shaves a couple of degrees off temps.

Should have mine tomorrow and I will report back. I already have the upper chamber sealed and the block bowed. Gonna give MX-2 a shot as well

    Excellent

You will be the first person I know that has already sealed & bowed the block than added the nozzle so your findings will be interesting.

Did you find any real measurable difference sealing the chamber & bowing the block ?

The bow makes mounting alittle bit harder as I think I got a drop on two cores and alittle higher temps on the other two. I thought I had tightened the nuts on the mounting bolts enought but one came loose (enought) to spin when I went to tighten the block down to maximum. Probably got a bit of an uneven mount.

I had just got the board and wanted to at least get it going, as I knew I needed to reloop because I am WC'ing the NB at a minimum, and I knew I was adding the nozzles. I should be able to get a good idea of what the change will be as I will only be adding the NB/SB to my Gfx loop, so they will not impact overall temps on the CPU loop. If I get a MM case I will prolly add a small 3rd loop. And yes I am addicted to WC'ing. LOL

I think I need to get rid of the HE 120.3 and go PA 120.3. The HE needs much more fan than I am giving it. Will see when I get the bowed, nozzled, sealed and MX-2'd Fuzion on my G0

I made several mounts to get my temps within a couple of degrees of each other, one thing I noticed on my board was it was possible to over tighten the block which resulted in board flex making the PWM squeal & the rig would randomly re-boot passably due to the PWM's overheating.

I don't think tightening the block down until the springs or spacers bottom is good I think its way too tight.

I now use a back plate on the board & just apply light block mounting pressure & all is good.

I use a backplate tas well. I dont usually go to the absoulute bottom of the mounting hardware, but I like a really firm mount. I cant remember off hand but I think Intel mount pressure is around 65lbs.

I would love to get the PA 120.3 but I absoulutely need a new case. I am so sick of the jalopy that is my Tt Armor. I have had it so long that it sickens me to look at. Getting my MM Horizon is first on my priority list, but since the little guy was born a couple months back, definately on the back burner as doing it right will be about $650 CAD.
