Is this like, the third time RAM has died in several pages? o.O

My Crucial Ballistix 'died' too when I tried to use it in the T2R, kept giving c1 errors. Pop in some generic SAMSUNG ram to adjust voltage and the Ballistix worked (so I suspect it was something to do with the part of it that tells the mobo what timings and voltage to set), but reboot and C1 error again. So I tried 2 new sticks of Ballistix, did a reset and both worked fine, no need to use the generic ram to set voltages.

But I placed those two 'spoilt' (both sticks were giving c1 errors even with the other one taken out) sticks and placed them in my DS3 (where I took them out of to use in the T2R) and they both worked fine, booted up perfectly.

Hey guys. Closing in on 4x1GB stable and 4Ghz with my G0 Q66, but I need 2.31vdimm to do so. I only needed 2.15v max to get 1066 on my 680i with 4GB

This is on the 9/13 Bios
Here are my settings. LMK if there is anything you can suggest.

I thought pretty hard on buying these memory sticks, but there is no guarantee that they will come with the Micron D9GMH chips. According to http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/ these could come with:

    Micron D9GMH (B6-3)
    Micron D9GCT (B6-37E) (possible)
    Micron D9GKX (B6-25E) (possible)

My Patriot PC-8500 memory has the Micron D9GKX chips in them, and they definitely don't match very well with my DFI motherboard and Q6600 processor. Besides, I wanted the best DDR2 memory I could get my hands on.

I ended up cancelling my order for the Intel Xeon 3085 processor, as my retailer now has a revised delivery date of "at least" mid-December. With the new Penryn processors being scheduled for release in January, I no longer saw the point.

The good news is I have unofficially pre-ordered the top Intel Penryn dual core processor (E8500), and have been guaranteed to have one in my hands within 24 hrs of Intel's official release date

How do you tell which chip you've got without taking off the heat spreader?

I think you will find it hard if not imposable to get a Q6600 @ 4GHz & 4GB of RAM Prime blend stable, will your CPU run small fft @ 4GHz or are you just trying to get it working/PI/game stable ?

Voltages aside (I think maybe a tad more NB & vcore)

I would try TWR/13-14 TWTR/12 TRTP/3-4 & manually set All PRE to refresh to 4-5 then run Prime95 v25.5 selecting/custom/4096-4096fft for an hour if that holds you should be fine with the RAM.

If you don't already use it get Memset v3.4 beta 3 so you can view/change the above settings from windows whilst testing for stability.

425x8 1.4vcore 1.41v NB, 1.25V VTT (GTL settings weren't enabled for this OC, so default of 110/110/110 im guessing?)

Nice progress. Default GTL values at 1.25V VTT will be somewhere around 82/82/80 plus or minus a value of 5 depending on the individual system.

I had my Q6600 with 4GB of RAM prime stable on my 680i, funny thing was it was even easy. Took maybe 10 reboots to get settings right.

I was running 1066Mhz at the end when I got everything figured. Now I can get 4Ghz close to stable with 4GB, but 3.8 I have zero luck. I will try your above mentioned settings and get back. Thanks Praz

Pretty high. I had to play the droop curve on my 680i before I Vdroop modded it. At load it was 1.62Vcore and with the T2R it is looking like 1.58v load.

I seem to get lower Vcore requirements across the scale with this board. If I can get the Ram figured, I bet it will be around 1.57 at load required. I can run 3.8Ghz all day long at 1.47Vcore with 2Gb of RAM. Problem starts with 4GB.

I dont plan on running 4Ghz 24/7, I just use for benching and messing around. This chip will go to HTPC when the cheaper 45nm quad comes around. it will get a really tiny OC for that duty so I dont mind beating on it now.

I have my Fuzion Nozzles on the way and the block is bowed now, so with the loweing of Vcore and shaving 3-4c off each core I should be able to get more out of my chip. Other thing with my 680i is I could not boot one FSB higer than what I had stable. Must have been a FSB hole there

Edit: I think my 24/7 OC for non gaming will be 3.6Ghz as I can run that OC at 1.36Vcore.

I have never had a board that allowed me to try. I had the eVGA 680i that wouldnt do 1fsb past 445, then I had the X38-DQ6 that I hated with a passion and would not let me past 400 fsb, and now struggling with the P35 T2R.

I have a new set of Ballistix coming so I think I will go for max FSB when they arrive, both at 9 and 7x. I am getting close to figuring this board out

SO far I have had similar resluts with two sets of OCZ2P10002G-K and Team Xtreem TXDD2048M1000HC5DC. Both are D9GMH (based on results I have had) and I have a set of Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500, should also be GMH, but can be either.

I would say that any D9 GMH/GKX RAM would work well.

Here is a list of what ram has what IC

    http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/

I remember Esau saying he had issues with some Cell Shock stix. Was that what you had issues with Esau??

Edit: Perhaps you can source out a set of these...

    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...acture=G.SKILL

2X2 GB set of ram that seems to OC pretty well for a good price.

I would say that any D9 GMH/GKX RAM would work well.

Here is a list of what ram has what IC

I remember Esau saying he had issues with some Cell Shock stix. Was that what you had issues with Esau??

Edit: Perhaps you can source out a set of these...

2X2 GB set of ram that seems to OC pretty well for a good price.

Do mean GKX?? I was unaware of a DQX step, and it is unlisted in the DDR2 list.

I'll have some of GSkill 2x2GB 1000 speed in a couple of days. If time permits, before I set the X38 board up I'll test in this board

Prolly needs more vcore, but we need more info on your system. A filled template might help. I know getting this board cranking is not easy , but worth the time :p
