That's a personal preference. I'm using NH-D14 and it is worth every penny to me.
Since I did not want to spend $250 for modular liquid cooling system, D14 works great and no need for any maintenance except for just cleaning the fans.
I used to have 212+ and D14 gave me 10c drop compared to it.
The temp never go passes 80c in LinX w/AVX 6600MB (ALL) run now.
