YEs, AMD will make more money in "value" segment, but the image of the company in the CPU industry is going to remain in the value segment without a flag ship part that competes in the enthusiast level. This also gives us hints about the architechture of the Bulldozer, when a flag ship part cannot produce magnificent numbers(in our case i should say when a flag ship part is priced in the $300 range, because we have no numbers yet), this mean everything based on this architecture is going to be mediocre or "VALUE" segmented. Thats my 2 cents.
since the leaked prices are from SKU which will never exist and the benches show clearly that it is just a deneb afterall i suppose you are really that dissapointed that there is no enthousiast level performance .... .

typical forum avarage joe desktop users: statements based on hypes-rumors and useless leaks.

Those who want to know more about new stuff should read more on the LIano launch right now, it is very near launch and there are leaks of retail SKU already i.s.o this B0 useless performance compare.

TBH there should never have been a video, it a little thing called NDA. If your not under NDA theres another little thing called respect and trust.

You respect the fact that a company wishes a product to remain NDA and they trust you will adhere to that.

Since it's not realistic that X8 Orochi is slower than Deneb, let alone Thuban, there is no reason to take these benchmarks seriously. If you look what that fool obr posted few days ago(yes,he breached NDA again),the scores are magically going up now. B1 Orochi he has now performs around 25-50% better than Thuban, instead of being slower.By the time we get to launch,I bet we will be seeing regular 40-50% across the board. This will make Zambezi a real enthusiast chip,in the ballpark of 990x.

Not to mention the fact that the "leaked prices" were for lots of 1k units, aka distributor's cost.

no really??? i thought that was what you were going for??? you have been told in this thread many times its a B0 stepping chip you had, but you keep on updating your ytube vids... i hope when you get a B1 or B2 stepping chip you will at least give it the same treatment.

Why talk to him that way? Hi is just trying to share what info he has on something allot of people are waiting for. He never claimed his results represent those of a retail chip.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

G0ldBr1ck: I am with you on this, its better knowing the performance even if its just B0, than not knowing anything.

I'd wait for the retail stepping review/s to make up my mind about it.

I'm closing this thread for the following reasons:

    1. The video is clearly of an early ES chip, which is known not to be representative of retail speed
    2. Every post past #1 has been speculation, fanboyism, or rehashing of the statement in #1
    3. We don't want to get a rep as a forum that enjoys breaking NDA's with any vendors
