I've never been of fan of compression fittings (DD Fatboys or Perfect Seals, Tygon, and Herbie Clips *never* fail to deliver).

Because most of your fittings are barbs (as they should be), are you going to go naked, use tactfully-small zip ties, or Herbie Clips? I'd *never* suggest worm drives, for someone with your tastes!

I have no doubt that 7/16" over a good 1/2" barb can hold without clamps for most loops. The problem is that I'm now sold on always using a single loop, so pressure is now a bigger concern than ever.
