Are you going to keep those Scythe GTs at low speeds? Or what is the plan?
    (Comparing with my GT1850s)

Since the older versions are really hard to get, do you recommend buying higher speeds and running them on lower?

They will be at low speeds most of the time until I OC everything for extreme gaming. Between the two Lamptron's and the Aquaero, I will have a great deal of control.

To your question; I prefer the heavy duty fans. These do not whine when you ramp them down. Just my opinion and preference.

UPDATE: The case will be here Friday, the third 580 and the EK block arrive Thursday! I will be out of town tomorrow and Thursday, but Friday should be fun. Saturday will be case construction day along with initial fitting of the MB and basic placement of the rads, pumps and other miscellaneous parts.

I will post some pics once everything arrives and assembly begins.

    Thanks for following my Madness!

    NaeKuh, I am digging deep!

A few things arrived while I was away......

The third 580 and the new EK 580 block....along with the MM stuff.

Great packing....but does the packing reflect the quality?

The bottom chamber for the 120.4, 120.1 and the four pumps...

    It's big!

This is a big case, especially with the pedestal. It gives you a great deal of room to hide rads, pumps and a couple of cats!

I will be installing my rads in the bottom and in the front of the case. The design of the case is pretty good overall, but the price should be a little lower. However, the HTPC MB tray is well designed and it is backwards compatible.

I would prefer a few more options regarding cut-outs, but that would add more $$$.

I will have to do some drilling, cutting and cursing, but the end result should be fine.

OK, Saturday has come and gone. PICS???

That setup is big enough to be considered a piece of furniture, not a computer case...
I hope you don't have a cat. It might find a new home.

OK, a little update today. I noticed a little structural integrity problem with the MB tray as Rich previously mentioned................

That is a big gap, 1", which leaves the MB tray flopping around....

So I used a 1" piece of angle aluminum 1/8" thick to add some badly needed support....

This is much better, but I may add some more as this MB is tray is flimsy...

Yikes, this thing is big and MB disappeared....

Even the EK 400 Res looks small....

I will be using an Aquaero 5 XT, I used the 4 to check the fit with the two Lamptron's.
As you can see in the last pictures, I will be making some type of custom midplate, either acrylic or aluminum...thoughts?
The case will be powder coated in white along with the Lamptron faceplate's. and the Aqua 5 faceplate.
I am leaning towards dual loops with each loop powered by dual D5's with dual EK tops. I originally wanted a single loop, but the tube routing along with the empty space makes a dual loop more attractive.
I also changed my fans to GT 1850's which should look good with the white case, I think.
As always, any suggestions or criticisms are most welcome, otherwise known as, I need some input!
    Thanks....scotch time

PS, sorry for the crappy pics and the long post.

    Rich,

    Thanks for the reply.
I cannot understand why they (MM) did not figure this one out?
This MB tray was designed to support the SR-2:

Their is an option to have the motherboard tray ship w/ a security flange to secure it in place. Although it doesn't look like it would work w/ your case unless you were to rivet it to the top case.

nice.... im in love with my pinnacle, just wish it had some extra space behind the mobo tray, and the front bay drive were all usable (fitting everything its suppose to internally is hard stuff!

I have the flange, but as you pointed out, I would have to secure it to the top of the case. That would look bad and I will be cutting a window in the top.

Please welcome the new arrivals to the family....

I must admit that these are beautiful fans It must be the scotch? In my past I associated beauty with Women, Ferrari's and Aston Martins!

Well I ordered white, red and black acrylic for the midplate and a few other mods I am considering.

I had a little time today to play around with the MM case and the potential set-up.....
    I am definitely running a dual loop and considering a triple loop. My thinking is as follows;

    1. Triple Loop; Dual D-5's cooling the three 580's with the 120.4 Rad, the 120.3 with dual D-5's cooling the CPU and the Ram block and the 120.1 cooling the MB block with one D-5. All of the pumps will have EK tops.

    2. Dual Loop; Dual D-5's cooling the MB and CPU with the 120.4 and the 580's cooled with the 120.3.

I am still undecided regarding the case color. My wife wants red, I prefer white. Too many decisions to make! I played around with the midplate using red, white and black plexi. Please LMK what you think.

    White Fan?

Thanks NaeKuh! The pedestal has a lot of room and I will be working on that tomorrow.

An now for part one of today's update...

This thing needs a face lift!

And this is a much better face!

While in surgery the doorbell rang....

What could it be? Yes, something for the triplets!

Red, black or white fittings, that is the question?

This bridge is sexy, at least I think so.

    Black looks good too....

Update two coming in the next thirty minutes or so, depending upon how much scotch I drink....

Thanks Zal! I will be using demin and Mayhem's red dye for one loop. The rest is undecided at this point.

OK, the last update for tonight....

I put the three 580's into the MB for looks and obviously in the case.

I feel like I am putting lipstick on a pig!
I really do not like the case, but I have to press on. Hopefully I will like it better once its powder coated.
With all of the elaborate H20 cooling options we have, we have no great H20 case's available.
    Charles we need you!
    Still many options to consider....

Thanks Mia! However, you have not seen the white fittings.

Fed-Ex just showed up with 260 black screws and some aluminum?
    More tomorrow........................

It is a gorgeous day here so I my work on the patio.
I started working with the lower chamber....

    Screws were a bit greasy....

Then I bolted the two together....

    It's big!

Since the D5's won't fit in the bottom I will probably move the 120.3 to the bottom and move the 120.1 up top. This way I can make a full midplate of acrylic and clean up the look, I hope.

A couple of pics from nature....

    Cheers

Thanks but is far from a work of art. The cooling should be excellent, at least that is the plan.

    Thanks for looking in.
