Did you update from BIOS or in windows? You perhaps should have tried the update again following the failure before powering off.

The board is dual BIOS so should have recovered.... I have bent the BIOS on my board a few times & it still recovers well but a failed update may be a different story... I would if you haven’t already strip all the components you can from the board.... extra ram, cd/dvd 2nd video card etc & leave the CMOS/BIOS battery out, it don’t need it to post just to remember things. If the board really wont post or loops you could try forcing it to boot from the backup BIOS chip by shorting pin 1 to ground on the main BIOS chip this should get the board to post on the backup chip.... This is not a recommended method but I've used it several times on my UD5 & she's still ticking.

The most sensible thing to do would probably be to have someone piggy back flash your chip on the board or remove the chip & replace it but if you're anything like me you'll work your own method of recovering out
