The LLC has a lot to do with the offset voltage, the higher the LLC, the more the CPU voltage will be increased using the offset value.

I know my CPU requires about 1.4V to be stable @ 4.8ghz
With Medium LLC and an offset value of + .90 I get 1.4V during LinX testing. (+.110 for Prime95)
With Ultra High LLC, I need an offset of about .040 to get a load of 1.4.08 V.
What I don't understand is why Linx can request a higher CPU voltage using a lower offset value, while Prime95 will crash. I need to set the offset higher just for prime95.
So, +.040 for Linx, and +.055 for Prime95
CPU will idle @ 1600mhz using as little as 1.096v and during load it will go up to 1.4 v.
You really need to play with some values....
Intel has always recommended standard LLC, and it idles with higher vCore. Explaining the reason will get long, but a short one, when you determine the vCore under full-load (LinX) and full vCore, it may still be unstable for lighter load, because the vCore doesn't always change proportionally.
With very low idle-vCore, you may also get BSOD at idle, light-loads, or sudden-load too, sometimes. Because you haven't necessarily tested all these scenarios when you test it under full load(LinX) and full vCore.

All these may change with those new buzz-word, like DIGI+ VRM, etc .., because the MB seams to be getting more responsive for supplying and regulating voltages, but Intel still recommends standard LLC, and it remains to be seen how it will work for real-word 24/7 use on these MBs.
