When you say they disappear in windows... Is that from the disk management service? Have you checked to see if they're just showing up uninitialized? You said you're using AHCI mode, did you also try IDE mode?

The sata6g ports DO support raid perfectly. I'm running my two x25-m g2's in raid0 on the sata6g ports with no issues. My OS is on these drives. ~140mb/sec write ~420mb/sec read. I know it's not the peak performance of the drives in raid0, but it's fast enough for me, and way faster than most single ssd's.
