ATI really doesn't need my help to look bad.

1) Make a clean OS install or image restore with default OS drivers(create an image if you don't already have one)

3) Restore the clean image Rinse and repeat with a different driver version.

This should help you pin down whether the driver version is at fault or not.
From a perspective of someone who is using computers since LS74xx series ICs were made on printed circuit boards size of a 9600 GT, who has some experience with writing Windows drivers, and who built dozens of computers from scratch, I really do not need a lecture on how to install/reinstall/clean drivers, how to troubleshoot things, and keep my OS in good shape.

I am not willing to waste time verifying obvious things. Why don't you go and suggest to Terry Makedon that he should verify his claims about ATI's "pure awesomeness" instead? Reading the complaints on their own forum would be a nice start.

That is a job for Beta Testing and QA department, not for customers who paid for a final product.

Guess which one does more damage to ATI corporate image?
