what about running distilled + biocide + few drops of food colouring ?
Rofl, bad luck Sniipe. Especially at Feser's response lol. As if anybody would waste their time concocting such an involved smear campaign against Feser, I mean really who would care that much? But it's amusing that they think it's what happened.
Either way, I think we need someone to actually investigate this, I'm sure I'm not the only person who will find the answers interesting. Once I have my PC up and running I don't plan on turning it off all that often. But if this is what happens when the coolant is constantly warm, well then that's not so good.
PS... Hey tim you got your account working![]()
Yes, but take out the primochill tubing. I am really curious if that has something to do with.

I'm gonna keep an eye on this too.
I've almost got all the parts for my WC setup, which includes a GTZ block.
I have a bottle of Feser 1 Black on standby, but am getting some plain ol' distilled just in case also.
Filling won't happen until some time next week, and am now thinking I'll probably just use plain distilled ...
yeah, do it again
and if it keeps happen let it fail and then sue them![]()
j/k don't sue them or let it fail but then seriously bring it to their attention that they need to find out what specifically causes it

Bribery won't work on me...just say NO to AT!!!
Yeh, do it again Sniipe, now that you are aware of the problem, hopefully next time it happens you will know exactly what is going on. But I'd be REALLY interested to know if it does it again.
Just on the chemistry side of this. It doesn't need to be released in to the water to react. You can mix two solids and still get them to react just fine. As long as the antimicrobials are in contact with each other they can react... If they do react with each other they would effectively remove the effect they're meant to give so depending on the ratio they could make your WC loop into an algae growing loop![]()

Apologies for the late reply, am down with Hep A and its kinda keeping me in bed
I didn't mean to cause any alarms...I'm just saying that according to the procedures you had described, the water is not strictly distilled but it should be clean enough for a loop.
I'm just puzzled why it was done in this way and marketed as such.Where I lived, all the bottled waters are correctly named. On top of that, I work in a biomedical lab, so I'm abit anal bout labellings
alright, enough bout that, back to the topic at hand
I had an explosive internal leak back in the early days of water cooling using very DIY parts
The "coolant" (distilled + glycol) evaporated over time but instead of topping up only water, I topped up with the remaining water + glycol mix prepared. Naturally, the ratio of water fell over time and the coolant thickens and temperature rose.
Finally, the high temp, thick coolant and poorly made barbs on one of the tubings INSIDE the case gave one night and I heard splashing sounds before the screen went black.
Oh, the parts were mostly Thermaltake + DIY
Hmmm...interesting...I have a few bottles of Feser premixed sitting around as well but just didn't want to switch out my PC ICE which is still crystal clear after more than a year. Why any customer service would shoot themselves in the foot with that kinda reply is really wonky
any update on this Snipe? what did Feser say in your meeting?

I can only report my own story and that is i been running with the Feser One UV F1 since Feb08 heavy OC on the CPU high temps, 24/7 for few months in a row. Not a single "issue" cloud or algy
Took the parts out few months back and replace the cooling fluid. It not nothing like the Pics on the thread. mine where quite clean.

I made the mistake of reading here at XS while eating a sandwich. Those pics are enough to make me sick! Yuck!
I hate to think what the inside of your radiators look like. I don't think I would use them without having an auto radiator shop boil them out.
I've used Red Pentosin before with just minor residue, but I'm glad I've gone with just DI and PTNuke now for over a year.

I think I forgot to post this but:
besides some clear gooey residue on the res tube and in the radiators there was no other gunk to be found - I used vinegar to check with brought some stuff out of the rads but probably because it was eating through the brass more than anything else
Are you going to re run it again?
