mate but radaja is running a dual core now not a quad anymore...

Nice run radaja, nice temps too. tjmax for 45nm dualcore should be 95c though.

The ram should have some leeway, 461 would only be 922 and if there rated to 900 there probably the higher binned 800s. In case they wont do 922 just do a large fft run first instead of blend. Coolings in the sig.

Intel says TJ Target=100C for the 45nm Dual Core.

Intel calls this number Target TJ. They shoot for 100C but what they end up with is anybody's guess. Intel did not admit to how much error is in this number so it is somewhat useless information.

I thought TJMax was closest to 95C originally but Intel says it is closer to 100C in their presentations last year so I changed it in RealTemp.

The truth is that there is probably 10C or more of error in actual TJMax on 45nm Core 2 CPUs. Two CPUs of the same model number might have an actual TJMax that is completely different. 100C is Intel's best guess but I have no idea if that is an average value or a minimum or a maximum. Nobody knows.

That's why comparing the reported core temperature of two different uncalibrated CPUs is pointless.

thanks zucker2k,after a little tweaking i finally got it stable at 1.31v@4500 i raised the vtt to 1.28 and the vdimm to 2.14
cause when i first tried 1.31v i also tried vdimm at 2.12v but it failed after 27minutes
so i did some adjustment and all i have to say is this cpu awesome

I could do with some help trying to stabilise my system folks and see you are doing some great work here!

I am working my way up the FSB Scale, trying to be as thorough as possible with the tests to ensure stability but currently Prime95 is proving to be my Nemesis!

It passes 20x IBT Trials ok as well as OCCT 1hr Linpack and 9hrs Standard but more often than not fails Prime95 (Small & Large tested so far) or sometimes even locks the system up forcing a reboot.

My current 480FSB template (I am however testing it with CPU Vcore five steps up from default @ 1.30625V BIOS / 1.248V Windows)...

radaja and others, I have an E8500 with a VID of 1.25 (although box says 1.26 max). So, should I assume that my chip will at 9x500 like yours, but take more vcore to do it? Also, mine should run cooler than your also right? I need 1.375 in bios for 8x500fsb, so I wonder what I would need fo 9x500fsb!!!??? Does the vid value also affect the VTT need too? Thanks!

I wish I had a golden CPU, my X3370, albeit a quad, struggles to stay stable at 4 GHz

Hopefully I can get this sorted after my build is done and get to at least 4.2.

    Some n00b questions:
    What is VID?
What is VTT and what does it directly translate to in BIOS?

I'm sure it will take a lot more Q and A before I have a properly OCed processor.

vid is the stock vcore when your cpu is at default(its what the board will set on auto vcore)you can see it in coretemp
    vtt is fsb voltage termination.

my E8500 had a vid of 1.25 and yes they will run cooler.i never got mine to 4500 but did get 4400 and i think it neede 1.39v for that.
not sure about vid affecting vtt.i ran my e8500 at 1.24vtt t0 1.8vtt for most of my OC's

Hopefully I can get this sorted after my build is done and get to at least 4.2.

    Some n00b questions:
    What is VID?
What is VTT and what does it directly translate to in BIOS?

I'm sure it will take a lot more Q and A before I have a properly OCed processor.
And VTT is the CPU Termination voltage on the Gigabyte boards

At this point I guess I just need to go through this thread and get a sense of how to set things up... I'll get there.

True, as my Q6600 can do 4.05GHz stable easy on 1.35vcore and it isn't fussy about everything. Not like my E5200 and E8500.

hey i'm new to this thread.
whats the difference between 2.00D and 2.00B guys?

what exactly is the "terminal" voltage for CPU and MCH?
    what about "reference"?

i'm coming from a ds3p that didn't have these options
