Intel says TJ Target=100C for the 45nm Dual Core.
Intel calls this number Target TJ. They shoot for 100C but what they end up with is anybody's guess. Intel did not admit to how much error is in this number so it is somewhat useless information.
I thought TJMax was closest to 95C originally but Intel says it is closer to 100C in their presentations last year so I changed it in RealTemp.
The truth is that there is probably 10C or more of error in actual TJMax on 45nm Core 2 CPUs. Two CPUs of the same model number might have an actual TJMax that is completely different. 100C is Intel's best guess but I have no idea if that is an average value or a minimum or a maximum. Nobody knows.
That's why comparing the reported core temperature of two different uncalibrated CPUs is pointless.

thanks zucker2k,after a little tweaking i finally got it stable at 1.31v@4500i raised the vtt to 1.28 and the vdimm to 2.14
cause when i first tried 1.31v i also tried vdimm at 2.12v but it failed after 27minutes
so i did some adjustment and all i have to say is this cpu awesome

Dam thats a awesome CPU radaja- also awesome work overclocking it
I wish I had a E8x00 that good.
I could do with some help trying to stabilise my system folks and see you are doing some great work here!
I am working my way up the FSB Scale, trying to be as thorough as possible with the tests to ensure stability but currently Prime95 is proving to be my Nemesis!
It passes 20x IBT Trials ok as well as OCCT 1hr Linpack and 9hrs Standard but more often than not fails Prime95 (Small & Large tested so far) or sometimes even locks the system up forcing a reboot.
My current 480FSB template (I am however testing it with CPU Vcore five steps up from default @ 1.30625V BIOS / 1.248V Windows)...
I would really appreciate some advice...D-an-WCode:************************************* ************************************* Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P (Rev. 1.0) - F9 ************************************* ************************************* ****************************** MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.) ****************************** Robust Graphics Booster ..............: [Auto] CPU Clock Ratio ......................: [8X] x Fine CPU Clock Ratio................: +0.5 CPU Frequency ........................: 4.08GHz( 480x8.5) ********** Clock Chip Control ******** >>>>> Standard Clock Control CPU Host Clock Control................: [Enabled] x CPU Host Frequency(Mhz).............: [ 480] PCI Express Frequency(Mhz)............: [100] C.I.A.2...............................: [Disabled] >>>>> Advanced Clock Control..........: [Press Enter] CPU Clock Drive.......................: [800mV] PCI Express Clock Drive...............: [900mV] CPU Clock Skew........................: [ 0ps] MCH Clock Skew........................: [ 0ps] ******** DRAM Performance Control ******** Performance Enhance...................: [Standard] Extreme Memory Profile(X.M.P.)........: [Disabled] (G)MCH Frequency Latch................: [Auto] System Memory Multiplier (SPD)........: [2.00D] Memory Frequency(Mhz).....800.........: 960 DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD)..........: [Manual] >>>>> Standard Timing Control x CAS Latency Time................5...: [5] x tRCD ...........................5...: [ 5] x tRP.............................5...: [ 5] x tRAS...........................18...: [ 15] >>>>> Advanced Timing Control.........: [Press Enter] x tRRD............................3...: Auto x tWTR............................3...: Auto x tWR.............................6...: Auto x tRFC...........................52...: Auto x tRTP............................3...: Auto x Command Rate (CMD) .............0...: Auto >>>>> Channel A Timing Settings.......: [Press Enter] x Static tRead Value..............7...: [ 9] x tRD Phase0 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x tRD Phase1 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x tRD Phase2 Adjustment ..........0...: Auto x tRD Phase3 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x Trd2rd(Different Rank)..........6...: Auto x Twr2wr(Different Rank)..........6...: Auto x Twr2rd(Different Rank)..........5...: Auto x Trd2wr(Same/Diff Rank)..........8...: Auto x DIMM1 Clock Skew Control (ps).......: Auto x DIMM2 Clock Skew Control (ps).......: Auto x DDR Write Training..................: Auto >>>>> Channel A Driving Settings......: [Press Enter] x Driving Strength Profile............: [1066MHz] x Data Driving Pull-Up Level..........: Auto x Cmd Driving Pull-Up level...........: Auto x Ctrl Driving Pull-Up Level..........: Auto x Clk Driving Pull-Up Level...........: Auto x Data Driving Pull-Down Level........: Auto x Cmd Driving Pull-Down level.........: Auto x Ctrl Driving Pull-Down Level........: Auto x Clk Driving Pull-Down Level.........: Auto >>>>> Channel B Timing Settings.......: [Press Enter] x Static tRead Value..............7...: [ 9] x tRD Phase0 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x tRD Phase1 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x tRD Phase2 Adjustment ..........0...: Auto x tRD Phase3 Adjustment...........0...: Auto x Trd2rd(Different Rank)..........6...: Auto x Twr2wr(Different Rank)..........6...: Auto x Twr2rd(Different Rank)..........5...: Auto x Trd2wr(Same/Diff Rank)..........8...: Auto x DIMM1 Clock Skew Control (ps).......: Auto x DIMM2 Clock Skew Control (ps).......: Auto x DDR Write Training..................: Auto >>>>> Channel B Driving Settings......: [Press Enter] x Driving Strength Profile............: [1066MHz] x Data Driving Pull-Up Level..........: Auto x Cmd Driving Pull-Up level...........: Auto x Ctrl Driving Pull-Up Level..........: Auto x Clk Driving Pull-Up Level...........: Auto x Data Driving Pull-Down Level........: Auto x Cmd Driving Pull-Down level.........: Auto x Ctrl Driving Pull-Down Level........: Auto x Clk Driving Pull-Down Level.........: Auto ****** Motherboard Voltage Control ****** Voltage Types..........Normal...........Current ----------------------------------------------- >>> CPU Load-Line Calibration.................: [Disabled] CPU Vcore..............1.27500V.......: [1.30000V] (Four up from default) CPU Termination........1.200V.........: [1.200V] CPU PLL................1.500V.........: [1.570V] (One up from default) CPU Reference..........0.760V.........: [Auto] >>> MCH/ICH MCH Core...............1.100V.........: [1.200V] (Three up from default) MCH Reference..........0.760V.........: [0.740V] (One down from default) MCH/DRAM Reference.....0.900V.........: [Auto] ICH I/O................1.500V.........: [1.500V] ICH Core...............1.100V.........: [1.200V] (One up from default) >>> DRAM DRAM Voltage...........1.800V.........: [2.020V] (One up from default - radaja and others, I have an E8500 with a VID of 1.25 (although box says 1.26 max). So, should I assume that my chip will at 9x500 like yours, but take more vcore to do it? Also, mine should run cooler than your also right? I need 1.375 in bios for 8x500fsb, so I wonder what I would need fo 9x500fsb!!!??? Does the vid value also affect the VTT need too? Thanks!

I wish I had a golden CPU, my X3370, albeit a quad, struggles to stay stable at 4 GHz
Hopefully I can get this sorted after my build is done and get to at least 4.2.
Some n00b questions:
What is VID?
What is VTT and what does it directly translate to in BIOS?
I'm sure it will take a lot more Q and A before I have a properly OCed processor.

hey i'm new to this thread.
whats the difference between 2.00D and 2.00B guys?
what exactly is the "terminal" voltage for CPU and MCH?
what about "reference"?
i'm coming from a ds3p that didn't have these options
