Intel says TJ Target=100C for the 45nm Dual Core.
Intel calls this number Target TJ. They shoot for 100C but what they end up with is anybody's guess. Intel did not admit to how much error is in this number so it is somewhat useless information.
I thought TJMax was closest to 95C originally but Intel says it is closer to 100C in their presentations last year so I changed it in RealTemp.
The truth is that there is probably 10C or more of error in actual TJMax on 45nm Core 2 CPUs. Two CPUs of the same model number might have an actual TJMax that is completely different. 100C is Intel's best guess but I have no idea if that is an average value or a minimum or a maximum. Nobody knows.
That's why comparing the reported core temperature of two different uncalibrated CPUs is pointless.
