    ICH 1.5 Voltage: 1.7v

Caught them in this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=214381. They seemed to do the difference in stability. 20 x 200 seems impossible for me though. Using 21 x 192 atm. I have a vcore of 1.45 and VTT of 1.4.

For a 200 bclk I need VTT of 1.5 or above to post, this feels like a little too much for 24/7 use..
My sounds enters a loop at Vista Startup (Orb). If i put it at 20x200.
    I have 1.4 Vcore, 1.44 VTT 1.65 Dram.

What is VTT Voltage for? Tested the latest beta yesterday too. I will max out this CPU, but i think i'll get a new one within 14 days. Is it possible that the board is causing these instabilities?

Can i fix multi to 21, the turbo multi. When there is only one core active, i've got multi 22, which may result in bluesceen.
I need to find max block too. I'm kind lazy when it comes to OC.

No Chance to get 20x200 stable with 1,45 V +

    Settings are:

    Turbo OFF / HT ON
    20x200 BCLK = 4000Mhz @ 1,45V +
    VDROP CONTROL disabled
    RAM BCLK*8 = 1600 8-8-8-24 @ 1,665 V DDR Bus Voltage (Corsair Dominator)
    VTT = 1,25V
    Uncore BCLK*16 = 3200 Mhz
    QPI 4,800 GT/s

If I start prime 95 stress test, system runs for about 10-30 seconds, then freeze. I never got a prime error, system feezes always! Normal?

    I tested VTT 1,21 to 1,61V, didn't help.

Any ideas? BIOS is the latest nonbeta.

    Thanks 4 help.

BTW: Cooled by EK Supreme ca 70-75°C @ 1,45V
O'm hoping that doesn't happen to me too.

Unfortunately even good CPUs may not like certain mults, so it's possible you can run 200x19 at 1,2V but 200x21 remains impossible even at 1,5V
That's the real advantage of the 940 and up, you can pick the CPus favourite mult which makes a huge difference.
Yeah i've been reading about that too guess i'll have to start from the bottom, instead of cranking volts and praying it works.

Has anyone here watercooled the Heatpipe System on this board?? or does DFI's cooling solution do a good enough job with some active cooling??

    2X4870X2 wont post. error 26

Finished this build about a week ago. Everything working fine, except my 2 x 4870X2's wont post with error 26. I've tried everything I can think of including Eva's (thanks eva) suggestion on increasing the memory lowgap.I've also tried to update the bios with a usb stick with no success.Tried 2 different brands of sticks however the system refused to boot up from usb. I've pulled my loop apart 4 times already trying to fix the problem and Iam almost ready to toss this board out.
The only way the system will boot is when I install my spare 4870.As soon as I put even one of the 4870X2's,,, nothing.Tried using different slots and also tried clearing cmos. I hope someone here can help or at least point me to the right direction.

Its not the board. I've heard of the same problem with different X58 boards too.

I've talked to a guy with the same problem regarding the Foxconn Renaissance board.

Try to update the BIOS while using the 4870?

Seeing as I've used my DFI with a HD4870X2 from day one, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. So it doesn't even work with 1 of the cards, let alone 2? Only way I can think of is flashing the vga bios to that of another, working card. The issue must be in the vid card's bios. What brand are they? Reference design?

I've tried to update the bios with a usb boot with no success. I just didn't want to pull the loop apart again if I can help it. I guess if I cant find another option, I'll take out the 4870X2's and just run the 4870 until I get the problem fixed.

Your lucky yours was good first go. Where you using the box bios?
Somehow I don't think its the card bios, rather the motherboard bios.

While the board can't be ruled out I know quite a few people that are using at least one 4870x2 without issue.

I know, its just my luck. I'd like to know though if its the boxed bios that is the issue,or something else.

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing very slow hibernation recoveries, it takes about 2 - 3 minutes for my computer to recover, whereas starting it fresh takes a much shorter time, I've resorted to just shutting it down now, I know its not a very big deal, but still a nuisance nonetheless, has anyone successfully found the reason behind the long hibernation recovery times on this board? I'm using vista 64bit, 6gb ocz plats, 4850x2 2gb. Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you haven't upgraded the BIOS yet, have you?

I talked to the guy with the Renaissance, and the problem was solved when he installed the latest BIOS.

no its the boxed bios and I haven't flashed to the latest one yet.
Hopefully I'll get some time to do it over the weekend. It would be great if DFI had a tool to flash like Asus and Gigabyte,it would make updating so much easier. I hope it is the bios though

Well, you are the first one I hear of having issues with an X2 card on the DFI. I was one of the first people to get a retail mobo, and I had my X2 already running in the previous DFI x38, and I have tried almost all bios versions between the oldest and latest, so it should work. I am still guessing it's the card's bios. I got a PowerCOlor reference design card (Heatkiller too ) so maybe I can extract my card's bios and send it to you, if flashing your mobo bios doesn't help.

Have you ruled out the PSU? No red lights may be lighted on the back of the cards when you turn it on, otherwise it's a power issue.

I've been finding some people with 2 x 4870X2's having issues with the DFIX58,which mainly was caused by the mobo bios and a couple with their type of VGA connector. I assume your only running the one 4870X2, is this correct? The Sapphire is reference design too and I still feel its not the card bios, or at least I hope note.Never flashed a card before and I hear its hairy business! I'm getting no lights comming on on the cards whatsoever and my PSU has more than enough power to accommodate the setup. Do you have power going to the 4 pins next to the PCI slots? or only to the 6 and 8 on the cards? I'd appreciate if you could send me your card bios, just incase your right and that is the problem. Oh and make sure you include instructions on the safest way to flash
How are you finding the HK blocks? I've got two of them sitting there looking at me and I cant even play with them yet...

    He's running two 4870 X2's, yes.

I suppose it's the newest version, but I could check with him. Will probably take a little time before he replies back to me, since it's a forum.

He is using version P10, since it's a Foxconn motherboard.
