Yeah, silver nickel is the way to go on these IMO. Unfortunately he doesn't have them in stock, all he had was one set with "classical" mips look (copper/brass) which I just ordered.. not for me though, customer needs a new mobo --> emergency
I'll wait till he gets the silver nickle done.
Here's what I managed while reviewing the T3eH8 (air cooled).

does anybody have a 920er i7 primestable @ 21x200? Haven't seen primestable results with 4200 on DFI yet...

Yeah, me. My 3837A707 can do it even on water.. needs 1,42V load Vcore with the Gigabyte (HT on) to be stable, and temps below 75C (above it's failing).
Here it is on my 24/7 setting (note that the Vcore readout of CPU-Z is wrong with the DFI, it somehow over-reports all the voltages, bios set is 1,44375)

It's not about the board really, you have to find a 920 that a) likes the 21x mult (only 3 of the 5 I tested like it) and b) one that is a good clocker. Unfortunately even good CPUs may not like certain mults, so it's possible you can run 200x19 at 1,2V but 200x21 remains impossible even at 1,5V
That's the real advantage of the 940 and up, you can pick the CPus favourite mult which makes a huge difference.
so i have to buy five of them and check them out...
=> you got a PM

Hey guys!
I just got my 920 for $220 in a local store. Those Chumps didn't know what they had! Lucky me.
Anyhow, I'm looking at the board very closely. I have a silly question that I cant seem to get an answer too. Considering someones Creative card prevented it from booting up, I have to ask.
Are those PCI-E 16x slots capable of running something other than a graphics card? AKA I wish to get a PCI-E x8 raid controller for my upcoming media database and I would like to run it in one of those slots if possible.
I already have a 4870x2 and I don't need more video card, and the most I would ever have is two graphics cards anyhow. I'm not much of a 3way SLI person :P So I could put that slot to good use.
Plus, I don't expect a 4.0ghz 24/7 anyhow. I will be happy with mid 3's. Will this board do what I need?
Thanks.

**Sorry by my Spanglish**
damn, got my 3837B395 yesterday. Tryed about 7 hours to push it to 4 Ghz.
No Chance to get 20x200 stable with 1,45 V +
Settings are:
Turbo OFF / HT ON
20x200 BCLK = 4000Mhz @ 1,45V +
VDROP CONTROL disabled
RAM BCLK*8 = 1600 8-8-8-24 @ 1,665 V DDR Bus Voltage (Corsair Dominator)
VTT = 1,25V
Uncore BCLK*16 = 3200 Mhz
QPI 4,800 GT/s
If I start prime 95 stress test, system runs for about 10-30 seconds, then freeze. I never got a prime error, system feezes always! Normal?
I tested VTT 1,21 to 1,61V, didn't help.
Any ideas? BIOS is the latest nonbeta.
Thanks 4 help.

Most of the time my system is unstable i just blue screen out of it, rarely do i get a prime error, why don't you try finding out if your system can handle 200 bclk first, lower ur multi to about 16 and test it out, if it works then you probably need more vcore. Also if you just want 4ghz, I would try 21x190 as well, it tends to be more stable. Also try the latest beta, the beta bioses are pretty good. Good luck.. don't push your vtt too high too, I've heard of people frying their chips with 1.6 vtt.
thanks a lot. Of course I tried 191x21, without improvements. Today i try to find max bclk.
What is VTT Voltage for? Tested the latest beta yesterday too. I will max out this CPU, but i think i'll get a new one within 14 days. Is it possible that the board is causing these instabilities?
Can i fix multi to 21, the turbo multi. When there is only one core active, i've got multi 22, which may result in bluesceen.

To be stable at 4 GHz or above I had to increase these voltages:
IOH/ICH 1.1V Voltage: 1.27v
IOH Analog Voltage: 1.25v
ICH 1.5 Voltage: 1.7v
Caught them in this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=214381. They seemed to do the difference in stability. 20 x 200 seems impossible for me though. Using 21 x 192 atm. I have a vcore of 1.45 and VTT of 1.4.
For a 200 bclk I need VTT of 1.5 or above to post, this feels like a little too much for 24/7 use..

thanks!
seems it's getting better with
VTT 1.28V
VCore 1.4
VDimm 1.685 @ 8-8-8-24 1N
Base Clock 191*21= 4 Ghz
Mem *8
Uncore *16
Loadline on
And
19x NonTurbo Multi
runs primestable for 10 min now.
@ Westsider.
with x20 nonmulti Vcore = 1,45V BCLK = 191 i could use every VTT and it made no difference... the only difference now is the disabled C1E and the 19x multi.
But 1,35 V seems to be to less voltage. Bluescreens system out. 1,4 Vcore stable for so far. Perhaps I can increase the BCLK now.
