    Using a GB EX-58UD5, F5 Bios.

    I can't get my 920 to 3.8GHz stable.

I can do 180 fine at:

    20x Multi
    Vcore 1.3000
    QPP/VTT 1.3000
    Turbo/HT/All Power Saving Functions OFF
    Load Line Calibration Enabled
    VDIMM 1.64
    PLL 1.80
    Memory Multi 8x, Uncore 16x

    Memory is a G.SKill PI kit rated at 8-8-8-21 @ 1.6-1.65V

Tried upping volts, using different multipliers (CPU down to 19x, Uncore up to 18x), I SEEM to have 3.7GHz stable with just Vcore upped to 1.4000V (45min of Prime95 so far).

    Thoughts?

for 2slick, dropping the mem divider did the trick for him to be stable. Give it a shot and see if you can go higher.

everybody has a different opinion. I dont even do stress testing. I just use the computer if it crashed I tweak it until it doesnt crash. 10hrs is a good measure though.

    Cheers.

Will do after another 6.5 hours of priming. If this works I'm saving the profile first.

I stress mine for 48hrs; but I crunch, so I need to know it's rock solid.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

That's actually the sweet spot for almost all chips when it comes to a voltage/heat/performance ratio.

Great sig! Of course, the only thing wrong is that you don't have Sid the Kid working his magic. (I'm born/raised in Pittsburgh).

I'm happy with the result, but a little worry about the temps at idle..44 degrees :S at around 70 something degree on load..

I'm 8+ hrs stable stressing using Prime 95. Will do a 1hr OCCT Linpack now, just to be doubly sure.

    EDIT:

ARGH! I don't believe it... 40+ minutes into Linpack, whilst screen saver was on, Windows sorta froze. It SEEMED like it frozen, then from random keyboard bashing, it looked like it was going to return to desktop (start bar became visible) and then just hung. Not sure if it was a stability issue or just windows =.="...

    EDIT2:

Okay... I tried 6x memory, 12x/13x uncore and still not getting anywhere with bclk.

    Vcore was 1.4000
    QPP/VTT was 1.3400
    PLL was 1.88
    VDIMM was 1.64

    Need more help...

Getting better I see room temps matter A LOT. One extra fan dropped me to about 75-77C. At night I have the AC set to 76F and here is what a small drop in room temperature got me (note it was mostly 72-73 on core1).

I'm thinking of changing BIOS rev again... however, don't know which one would be best (I've used F5 and F6e on my GB EX58-UD5, so need something more stable). Maybe up Vcore above 1.4000 BIOS? Up QPP/VTT voltage as well? VDIMM is set at 1.64 in BIOS but drops to 1.616 on load.

I really dont wanna give up and admit I have a bad OC'er...

your temps are fine, these things can run up to 100ºc. Just try to stay under 90ºc. Glad the settings worked out

yes they do a lot. Also I switched my fans from pull to push and my temps dropped to down like 4-5ºc across all cores. Maybe you wanna expirement???
