    Getting over 450 FSB..

    Hello everyone.

I just got a UD3P, and installed it in the machine. My problem is that I canīt boot over 450FSB, even 451FSB is a no go. It just begins to beep at boot.

It is otherwise very stable at 9x450FSB. (Prime95)..

Is there a setting in the bios, that can causing this??

    Running F4 Bios... (Q9650)..

Can you please post your bios/voltage settings so someone can look at them and see if we can figure out your problem.

So, if VTT is 1.20, do 1.20x.63=75.6v, or in this case you would chose .76v in the GTL list. Same method and format goes for the NB. Using that formula I was able to get a CPU-Z validation with my Q9550 at 555FSB on air
Nice, I was wondering if there was a way to calculate it. What is the max VTT should be is it 1.4v for quads?

I'm at 1.26 or 1.28 when I went higher - so I still need to be about .80+ for the GTL which is about where I was. My problem with going lower is that Prime Blend was failing. Bumping it where I am now fixed that.

Yep but my chip doesn't like 500. It boots but it's very unstable.
well my multi is 8 on my Q so i got it stable at 500X8 but with 1.44v on CPU Termination & MCH Core the only ones i set are those and CPU Vcore & DRAM Voltage the rest I set to Normal

Yep and the "Static tRead" is the Performance level. MCH Frequency latch is the same as the bootstrap/FSB Strap on other boards. Would I be correct to assume that the "Performance Enhance" is similar to the ASUS "Clock Twister" ram setting?

Also, if anyone ever comes up with an explanation as to what the "Drive Strength Profile" actually does and the correct way to set it for certain clocks, please post the answer. Thanks

My guess is internal NB latencies. If you choose the 1066 profile Im sure performance will be a bit slower but more stable OC.

You know overclocking has lost it's "fun" factor. With all these settings and voltages its so much more frustrating now. It was great when you had vcore, NB and SB voltages and none of this crap with GTL references to deal with.

I was telling a friend last night, I do love this new chip and board but it took alot of messing with to get it stable....I really missed the simplicity of overclocking my Q6600 on the P5B-deluxe and P5K-E that didn't have quite so many options you had to fool with. I can only imagine the end of easy overclocking is past and it's probably going to get more difficult.

So setting it to "OC-1333" will yield even higher NB latencies?

Try a higher FSB with a lower multi, say 8x500 or 8x525 and so on. It will perform better too!

xbiusx,my board first stopped recognizing my harddrive randomly then it just wouldnt boot anymore.to your question,no they will just send the same board back if they find nothing wrong.the only time they give a different board back is if they cant repair the one you send.im hoping they that they could repair mine cause its a decent board.but if not oh well ill just have to learn what the new one likes.COOP,nice fsb.what is that program that looks like everest in your SS?

^^ that is AIDA32. It is free and has quite a bit of information but could use more comprehensive benchmarks.

    Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my UD3P and I hope someone can help me...

Whenever I set to 'Sleep' in Vista and I try to wake the system from sleep, the system will power-up for 3 secs then power-down.

The system will keep repeating the above process (i.e., powering up for 3 secs and powering down without waking up properly) until i manually switch off the PSU.

Any idea why this happens? I have not installed Gigabyte's Dynamic Energy Saver and S3(STR) mode is already enabled in Bios.

    Here are my specs:

    Q9650 (w/Xigmatek s1283) + Gigabyte P45 UD3P
    SilverStone Zeus ST75ZF 750W
    Team Xtreem Dark PC2-8500 1066MHz
    8800GTX

EDIT: ok.. i searched abit and realised this is an existing problem. any fixes yet?
