Pretty nice 24/7 setup I most say.

@ radaja, you are still using the F4 BIOS? If so is it that you found it to be the best for the Q9650? I would love to get off of auto settings with my Q9650 E0 at 3.87GHz, it is totally stable in Prime95, IntelBurnTest, HyperPi, OCCT etc. but on occasion at boot it keeps resetting and I have to turn off the PSU and cycle the PC power button and enter the BIOS to see the OC'ing failed message. Sometimes after that it boots fine other times another try or 2 is needed.

My EP45-UD3P is the revision 1.1 and I am using a TRUE Copper/Panaflo on the CPU with a 120mm Panaflo on the RAM which is a Kingston Hyperx T1 8500 2 X 2GB kit.

These are my settings with the F7 BIOS

radaja , you really have your setup figured out and running nice. I got a couple hrs small FFT last night before bed. I needed to get that part going. Getting ready to blend at the same speed now. [IMG][/IMG]

This has nothing to do with the BIOS version. This is because OC settings. I've seen this happen before on many Rev. 1.1 boards, but never on the Rev. 1.0.

coop it`s pretty good, i wondering how can you run 4x1024 on 1.3vMCH, that is no sense for me, i had 4x1024(OCZ Reaper 8500) and needed 1.4 at least to run 500x8...

waiting to see your results. Now i`m trying 500x8.5 with smal ftt ok and blend fails within seconds...

F6 on my UD3R has similar issues. That's why I went back to F5.

I have a Revision 1.0 board with an E8600 that does it as well, less so since I flashed it to BIOS F7. I feel there are some voltage settings that should cure the issue on the revision 1.1 mobo with the Q9650 as it was stable at that and higher then 3.87GHz on my GA-P35-DQ6 board. This mobo just has so many more settings that I don't understand for voltages etc. At least I hope some voltage settings will help it.

I agree it has something to do with the OC settings, I just hope to find the right ones to cure the problem.

    Hey,

I just realized something. Im only using a 4 pin atx connector at the top of my UD3R. I was going to RMA this board because so far it has sucked at OC'ing for me. Anybody know how big a deal it is to either have an 8 pin atx connector or use an adapter? Would only using a 4 pin severely limit my OC?

If so I may not have to RMA?!?

You're not feeding the mobo the power it should be receiving for STOCK so I'm amazed you're powering ON can't imagine how you could OC. The mobo should be fine one you get a better PSU with 8 pin socket connector.

Well heres a doozy of a question for you. I have a 630 watt Raidmax modular power supply that HAD a detachable 8 pin connector, when I bought the psu I didnt need to use that connector and in my infinite wisdom, tossed the box with the cables I didnt use. So my options are...

    1) Buy a 4 to 8 pin adapter

    2) Somebody on here help me find a place online where I can buy the modular 8 pin atx cable for a raidmax PSU

    3) Buy a new power supply

    Any advice?

either try and get the connector for it (ebay or email company of psu) or buy a new power supply for sure

Know of any websites that sell a male to male 8 pin atx connector? Cuz the psu connection is just another one just like the motherboard side.

Keep these types of questions for PM so we don't populate the thread with info other then the topic
I already Pm'ed you a link where you can buy the 8 pin adapter for your PSU.

    hope that helps
btw:post ur settings so i can see what u r trying
No, i didn't explain it good enough,
    The MCH ref and the cpu ref is easy to set {i just use Jor31BR's golden rule}
    thanks Jor
it is the mch/dram ref. Mine is always half of the dram voltage and; yes, it "tracks" with the dram voltage setting, except in your templates you changed it a little, its not half. Was that accident or did you change it on purpose? And if so, did it help.

Just some discussion about MCH temps. I think most modern heatpipes should work w/o gravity, reason being is b/c I have a BTX case so the mobo is upside down. You think it may give me stability issues?

I just notice touching the MCH is hot compared to the mosfet

I've got to 3.4 ghz on 1 stick of ram. P95 and occt stable, haven't seen temps higher than 36C @16 ambient. Can't figured out the sceenshot or the bios template. I know to use Paint, but how do I get them in my post. I'm a definate noob with the whole overclocking game. My board is rev 1.1 and came with F6 bios, should I go to F7? Thanks in advance.

    i used 0.53x for the MCH/DRAM ref.,
    2.16 * 0.53 = 1.1448 i did round down tho (1.140v)
    it seems to help

    btw: whats Jor31BR's golden rule?

If you are hearing beeps after a reset or shut down try to test each memory module individual too, sometimes a single bad stick of ram causes the problem.

Use same settings as before but now with a single stick, if the issues stop and you can maintain the settings without hearing the beeps or seeing the red bad oc screen after you power on you got a bad stick.
