Hehe thanks. Yeah the cover / bezel was painted with "regular" spraypaint. I've used this method on a RPM guauge mounting bracket in my car and so far the paint have been holding on quite nicely actually.
What I do is nothing more than sanding the metal in one direction with some 120 grit paper (varying by how you want the surface to look like). Then I just spray a couple of thin coats with, in this case, CRC acrylic mat black pro paint (http://www.crceurope.com/csp/web/Pro...ess=AUTOMOTIVE)
When I removed paint from the counter sunk holes I could get a feel of how hard / easy the paint is stuck on the surface, and it's OK. Nothing like powder coat but it will be good on details like this one. I'm gonna make an experiment with some self etching primer, and then try to sand the brushed look on the primer. That would give the paint a bit more grip and if succesful, give it the brushed look as well.
Hope that answers your question![]()
