MIck, with that block, i think it would look good if you had the south bridge go into the north bridge, then have the other barb on the last mosfet and get rid of the rest of the block by the ram , if you get me? But it looks fantastico

Yerp, thers always a reason why it is like that, i think it would look better that block if it was all copper and it had the inlets and outlets, near the same place on the side of the block then copper pipe taken it away from the block, that would look awsome

Your idea is sound bentlya! I can't say that I have definitive reasons for the way my design has turned out. I just had an idea, which I pictured in my mind. I then tried to produce this vision as a render. There are probably many ways that it can be improved. I just hope it gives others some inspiration and perhaps something similar may actually be produced. I think the motherboard manufacturers should think a little more about the needs and wants of the water cooling comunity...

Evil uses Inventor and I've been using Solidworks 2009 for some of my more recent blocks.

Bentleya, have you tried using HDR probes for your lighting? They definitely help with the realism.

Metric, i haven't got a clue how to change settings, all basic settings. Would also like to know how to make acrylic edges glow like you have LED's in them. And a Derlin materail + brused aluminum that works

Well i know my design is not very practical but i have been having alot of fun with Max (This is the second time i am trying to use Max to render).

By the way the CPU Block was modelled in Inventor 2009

By the way some of the renders and designs here are amazing!!!!

Yet again, superb renders Metric! Any chance you can let us know what materials you are using for those blocks?

I think Metric is on the maxwell train with me now

so unless you plan to switch over (which shouldnt be too hard theres a sketchup plug in) the materials wont really help.
