I'm a little bit disapointed with my cpu because of the high vcore i need.
And my RAM are crab they only go 520 (1040). g.skill 1000 F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ.

May be somebody has good settings to get behind 520 for that kit but i tried almost everything :-/

I was doing quick test on my UD3P and noticed something strange. When I set vcore to 1.35v in BIOS and 400x9 for FSB, in windows it's actually 1.376 and even under load it's 1.376v. Anyone experience this? Would there be any harm? I think I can re-adjust in BIOS to reflect in windows but wasn't sure if this is ok to start with.

Memory question here.. I have this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231194 and have tried to set my memory to PL9 like suggested earlier in this thread. By default SPD setting it is at PL 10 and if I try to change it to PL9 I get a failed overclock. Is it time for new RAM? If so I would like to try Corsair Dominators http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145197 or this GSkill http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231184

With DDR2 Ram prices so cheap I would like to keep a couple of extra kits around anyway in case a stick dies.

    Thoughts?

siyah, maybe up the vMCH from 1.2 to 1.3 or higher, maybe add a little more vDIMM see if that helps.

Here I am with my Q9550 at 490x8.5. I could really use some help making that last jump to 500x8.5 if it's not an impossible feat.

It completed twenty passes in Intel's Burn Test at 490x8.5; OCCT ran for two hours; I haven't tried with Prime95 yet.

try 1.65v pll that should set u for any clock higher (any)
    increase cpu termination if needed
    cpu reference .935v
    MCH core up to 1.5v-1.55v?
    MCH ref. .990v
    MCH/Dram 1.120v
    ICH core 1.2
u may have to enable loadline??? try ^ first
with llc you should be able to lower vcore way down
    what ur temps???

If the temps are below 45oC I wouldn't worry about it. Problem is there is a range that high nb volts will start to hurt more then do good.

Nice Elite I just fired mine today, keep your template updated as I will be using it for starters.

Being a DFI man fr all these years these other bios looks like Japanese to me.

My NB under load is 44C atm. I might get a HR-05 IFX .

LOL I was overwhelmed the first few times I opened my BIOS . Since the only 775 mobo i'd ever used was a P5E. Which was so much simpler.

I have a hard time to get 500 4000 1200 555 15 to work, it should work with tRD8 but no way it won´t boot at all.

I use BIOS F4, board are revision 1.0

    I use Latch 333 and Multi 2,40B.

Have tested tRD 8-12 and auto with Standard and Turbo, no boot

    Dram volt 2,30-2,50, no boot

    MCH volt 1,20-1,50, no boot

    MCH ref 55%-67%, no boot

I can boot and are stable with 500 4000 1000 CAS4 tRD9 Turbo (tRD8 no go), 1000 CAS5 tRD10 (tRD9 no go), so my FSB are stable as far as I see it.

I can boot into windows with Latch 333 and Multi 2,40B at FSB 434 DRAM 1042 555 15 Turbo tRD auto but if I try 435 there is no boot.

I have 2 sets of 2x1 Kingston HyperX PC9600 CAS5 (D9GKX) and 2 sets of 2x1 Cellshock PC8000 CAS4 (D9GKX) and non of the work, with my Rampage Formula they all run 2x1 at ~1250@2,30, ~1270@2,40 and ~1300@2,50.

    I´m rock solid stable with 450 4050 1200 555 15 tRD7 Turbo, so it can run 1200 CAS5.

What is going on, I have seen other peoble run 2x1 and 4x1 with D9GKX at this speed without problem.

    Is´t my E8400 C0 that the board don´t like?

    Upgrade BIOS?

    Have I missed something?

    Any suggestion?

    Hi guys,

    I'm now running my Q9550 @ 4 Ghz (471 x 8,5) without any issue .. I'm really impressed by this board...
Beside the fact that the S3 resume isn't well handled yet :-/
I was looking for a way to powerup my PC just by hitting a key or mooving the mouse like I did before with my ASUS P5W DH.
Any trick to start the PC without pushing the power on button on the EP45-UD3P ?
    Please excuse my faulty english

@Ghostleader Do you try strap 400 yet? I cannot boot up 333 strap with high FSB And I always use High Fsb

    Ghostleader,

try the above voltage setting in your BIOS, i just booted with this setting and run a few quick system tests as you see in the pic.

to see if you can get a stable system with the voltage setting, if so, and with 2x1GB RAM, you can try lower MCH core and CPU termination voltages,
and then retest your overclock again, i would say MCH core 1.30-1.36v, CPU termination 1.20-1.30v, also try MCH ref. value 0.68v and maybe 0.72v (of VTT 1.20v),
for memory timings, you may want to first try setting Auto, and if you set Turbo, the board's bios will enter SPD's (usually, it will be using timing of the module when running at DDR2-800) timings and this should work ok with a good overclocking ram kit like yours.

    i hope this helps.

    -----------------
note-- in order to use the ET6's voltage setting value in your BIOS, for example, if you want to try my voltage setting (above),
the easy way is to first set VTT to 1.20v, Vdimm 1.80v,
and then set the other voltage and ref. settings using the value shown in the ET6 and go back to VTT and Vdimm and change the 2 values last.
