I think you are forgetting one little point ... Yorkfield is a monster at games , it did create a very hard to beat competitor. When you look at Phenoms, it is in average 30% behind, in some case more. Adding a 3rd level of Cache and not losing performance, and being able to be around the performance of yorkfield is more than outstanding. Nehalem is a processor that will get some serious boost on video (Will beat Badaboom), will be awesome at 3D rendering, and will be the only server chip that sane person should buy.

In all fairness, give me your budget, I'll move that over to AMD and I won't be that surprised if they could come up with something atleast competative. I'm not trying to down talk your archievements, I think since the A64 days, Intel has been pressed hard to come up with an architecture which will be very hard to beat, even if you also have the process node advantage over AMD, you deliverd on the architecture big time
