Are you sure these are recommended? On the main download page, these are development versions.
But anyway, it's working fine on my machine (Vista 32 bit)![]()

maybe it will!
Cut Sierra a break he does tons of work here for our benefit, and the benefit of others, usually without thanks, not everyone can be cheerful 100% of the time.
I don't know what are you talking about, you ARE helpful!
I'm always installing the newer versions on my computer,
even if they are final, recommended, or developement verions.
I was just... Never mind...
Edit: 6.3.14 beta is now available for Linux and OS X users.

6.2.18 vs. 6.3.14, Q6600 running 456x9=4107Mhz on XP x64 SP2:
6.2.18:
FPU 3869
Integer 10931
6.3.14
FPU 3878
FPU 10746
6.3.14
Since 6.3.12 is even faster than 6.2.18 I'd currently recommend using 6.3.12
6.3.12 on my new Q6600 & 6.3.14 on my QX9650. Thanks for the up jcool, I'll switch my QX back to 6.3.12.
And Sierra, your work here is very appreciated by me. I don't think I have ever thanked you in this thread, maybe once, but I am very grateful for all your updates in this thread as well as the Milestones thread.

Same with me dragon, except it was on Saturday...I moved back as well and have had no problems
*Noob question alert*
Is there any real reason to update boinc to newest version? I mean do they increase performance regularly or is it ok as long as the older versions work?
I updated to the beta and had problems with that...I went back to an earlier version and it seems like it's taking longer to complete projects. Although that could be just my imagination. Also my point average is dropping, but that could be due to catching up or some inactivity over the past couple days.
Depends on the version. Some improve performance, some don't. That's why we keep posting bench comparisons, in order to figure out which version currently is the fastest.
I run 6.3.12 on all machines but 1 (still on 6.3.14, no problems there, just not enough time to change version right now).
6.3.18 beta is now available for 32 bit Linux users:
