I just ordered the one I mentioned above.....they are shipping GO stepping
Ill know about the OCing when it gets here...though Im MAX going for a 3.6 on the air cooled setup Im using for this build for my wife.
From everything Ive seen it looks like an agile OCer in general...anything that on average hits a 1.2ghz OC without any longevity issues on AIR...aye...nice
I do kinda wish they had the 12meg L2 cache though...itll be interesting to see just how much of a performance difference[I already know itll be alot but still] this build will have versus my own computer.
Case- Thermaltake Armour Plus LCS[yeah I took the easy way out but Ive since replaced some parts....never quite liked the circular cpu block contact patch....!]
CPU- Intel Q9550[oc to 3.8 stable and staying there for now! and just couldnt bring myself to pop for the xtreme lines]
MOBO- EVGA 790i SLI FTW
GPU- 2x EVGA 9800gx2 [had one....wanted 2..second was on sale for 300$ at the time and really not worth the cost to "upgrade" to the 280s]
RAM- 4 x 2 gig Corsair Dominator 1800mhz DDR3 14400 speed ram [with the nifty fan but no OC....yet...]
HD- 300 gig WD Velociraptor[OS and progs] and 1tb Seagate 7200.11 w/ 3gps and 32meg buffer[storage]
LG bluray/dvd/cdburner[gotta love the performance and price!]
PSU- Corsair 1000w modular
Vista 64bit ultimate [yes I get all my 8 gigs heheh]
Obviously....I KNOW Ill out perform what I build her[it crushes games/tasks....both from power and weight....FREAKING HEAVY!!!]...but...if this chip performs as well as Ive been hearing...and heavily researching recntly...then...I may start using it in more builds for friends instead of always suggesting the intel q9450/9550 chips as much...
