I had the same problem when trying to download for Vista 64 yesterday. The trick is to just pick WinXP pro as your OS and you're fine...the driver file you'll get is for all OS's (check out the readme file). Intel really needs to work on their website. There's no excuse for this kind of bug.

Ok I checked my cpu and box and can't figure out if I have a C0 or E0. How can you tell?
EDIT: Figured it out. SLAPL. C0! I guess I am saved!

nah he means thats the most recent bios where you can actually use them and post ;> 0406 on have broken shadow support for at least adaptec/3ware based pci-e raid controllers. Nobody has reported Areca don't work, yet nobody has reported they do either!
by the way all current bios' are pretty much called beta. the most recent stable is 0308 I believe, but all the beta bios' released by Asus so far are stable, the title beta means nothing really except being a title. They usually have incremental fixes / support updates. Most people here all prefer using the Beta bios' anyway since they are the most recent.

Just so everyone knows, there are several Raid cards that are tested and work with the Rampage Formula, including:
Adaptec ASR-5805
Areca ARC-1200
Areca-1210
HighPoint RocketRaid 3520
There is a thread at the asus forums about this exact issue where they are doing a lot of testing. I think everyone having this problem should get involved in the following thread. See here:
http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO SUBMIT A SUPPORT TICKET AND EMAIL SUPPORT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. Eventually, it will be fixed.

Just got my rampag formula tonight. Put it on the bench. Hooked up a thermaltake modular 700 watt psu, e8400 C0, 2 x 4GB GSKILL 1066mhz, and EVGA GX260 video card. I have both cpu power connectors plugged in and both pcie power connectors hooked up.
I turn this baby on with the mobo power switch and everything lights up, cpu fan comes on for a few seconds then everything turns off and it restarts. no video. It just loops over and over like this. Little LCD says CPU INIT. I've tried using just 1 RAM stick in each sock and I have hit the clearn CMOS button a bunch of times.
Any suggestions. I bought this board to replace an x38-dq6 that was basically doing the same thing(3 different RMAs all with different problems, first one fired up but no video signal, 2nd board same problem, 3rd board continuous reboot just like this board) I just don't see how my psu could be the culript since everything has power, I've tried both ram sticks so how could it be that, and i am doubtful that the cpu could be the problem but I don't have any spares to test.
HELP! This is driving me crazy. I have been down for over 6 weeks and now after blowing another 300 bucks I am in the same position.....

This is probably a newbish question, but I've searched for the answer and found nothing.
I have my rampage water cooled (NB, SB, both mosfets, and the cpu all ek blocks), and temps are nice and solid 33-35C for all. There's 2x 120mm fans blowing on the mobo in general and 3 on the radiator.
BUT when I'm using that ASUS probe software there is a temp for MB (motherboard?) that climbs past 55C when I'm gaming (setting off some default alarm). Where is this temp sensor located, and am I going to hurt something running this at 55C +? It idles at ~42C. I wouldn't have worried if it didn't climb independent of the other temps.

MB is something like an ambient temperature, the sensor is usually located not too far from the CPU, if you have watercooled the setup I wouldn't pay any notice to it. You might want to suck heat off the mobo rather than blowing onto it, this is probably the reason the MB sensor reads so high, if you have a 40c + ambient temp in case, you will be circulating 40c+ air back onto the mobo when blowing towards it. Exhaust always works better in general.

I didn't realize it was disabled by default LOL. I will try that tonight. I also have a 1.8v DIMM to bring home from work to test in case my gskill memory is the culprit. I am also going to buy a PSU at Best BUy on th eway home to rule that out. That leaves processor and motherboard.
If this is my 4th defective motherboard in a row from gigabyte and asus I am going to scream. what the hell is wrong with these people... I just don't understand what is with all of these mobos and there endless reboot problems.

My x38 board has been running great for 9 months. then i flashed bios and it died 2 reboots later and would not post. I sent it in and got a new one. Exact same problem. Powers up and STAYS ON with all lights and fans but does not post. Then I RMA that board and get my 3rd gigabyte X38 and this ones behaves completely different. It posts the first time. THen starts being flakey and locking up in bios. Then some crazy weird bios error message appears and it hard freezes during a post and then after that it was endless reboot city.
Then I saidit and bought a new board(rampage formula) and it immediately has the continuous reboot issue.
So it's not EXACTLY the same issue with each board. And the fact that it posted a few times with the 3rd board really tripped me up.....
Time to rule out the PSU and memory tonight. All that will be left is the mobo and cpu and I have never had an intel cpu die on me before.
If the cpu was dead would the lights power on and fans spin up at all. Wht happens when a cpu dies?

Ok so i tested a different power supply and a different 1.8v memory module. Same problem.
So i have it narrowed down to either this 4th bad motherboard from a seperate manufacturer or a defective CPU.
What do you guys think? Have you ever had a defective CPU that caused boards to reboot over and over?

You had the answer back when you had the CPU INIT trouble code. Basicly telling you the CPU is not there or working ect... But yes the CPU was probably damaged one way or another. It could still be your PSU toasting things so be carefull. You could put in another CPU and that same PSU might fry something.

Oh, thats a pic of my other rig.
If you have a bad CPU it could also be frying your boards, faulty components can short or damage motherboards. Same goes for faulty DIMMs and GPUs. After 2 RMA's I would have suspected the CPU being at fault. If the board is already damaged which is possible, RMA it and buy a new cpu. Don't take the risk of damaging a new CPU with an already damaged board.
