Now I can't see them any more and in the first screen of BIOS I see nothing in the SATA ports. Why is this happening and is this the problem to make DVD Writer bootable and use the hard drive in SATA 3 as bootable drive.

Let me know if there is any other way.

Right now I have this:

SATA 1 Samsung 500gb
SATA 2 Seagate 500gb - Both SATA 1 and 2 in RAID 1
SATA 3 WDC 640gb
SATA 4 ---
SATA 5 Samsung DVD Writer 183L

thanks

if you are running Intel Raid, the drives will not show up in the bios.

2nd, you have to go into the Intel Raid bios by hitting "Cntrl I" repeatedly right as the first post screen is about to disappear...once you are into the Intel Raid Bios screen, you should be able to tell the Raid bios to select the non-raid drive as the bootable drive.
