Get ready to order! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...HD+4000+series 4870 is there but it seems it's been deactivated. Something's going on.

Don't know what the deal is with that. It says 4850, but in the pic it says 4870.

maybe they had problems with crossfire

    look at this

    world in conflict

    Single hd4870 :

    1600 x 1200 (4x AA, 4x AF) @ Very High: 40.6 avg, 23.6 min, 69.3 max

    CRossfire :

    1600 x 1200 (4x AA, 4x AF) @ Very High: 28 avg, 26 min, 112 max

average FPS in single card = 40 fps

average FPS in crossfire = 28 fps

    edit:

    they corrected the results

    Some errata corrections:

    1600 x 1200 (4x AA, 4x AF) @ Very High: 48 avg, 26 min, 112 max

    ...

Sorry to say you this, but your X38 is not going to help in 3DMark06 at those clocks. What is limiting him is the CPU. Put that York at 4GHz and show me the score again

I got this when I click Add to cart:

Item# N82E16814102748 is removed from shopping cart due to quantity limitation/insufficient stock. Some combo items might be affected by this.

    Your shopping cart is empty.

If you think this is an error, please click here for suggestions.

Click on the video card gives me a bunch of Sapphire other products.

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.
Creationists don't mind being beaten in an argument. What matters to them is that I give them recognition by bothering to argue with them in public.

    Nah !
it'll be sooner than that !
the prices on the 3870X2's dropped $50 weeks after they hit the stores & then dropped agin when they started selling better .
It's the early adopters that get the shaft on prices & the drivers will be quite young also when they 1st come to the masses..
Soo I'll let the rest of you guy's be the Test Bunnies ! L O L
Ya'all will have the mods & software fined tuned at that point ....

    I can wait ;p

Wow, the HD4870 makes the GTX260 its little schoolgirl sex toy.

July cannot role around soon enough!

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

The HD4800 series profile once it is in crossfire mode does not seem to be doing its best. The profile is in its younger form I suppose. The waiting game starts again for Multi GPU's users. It is surely not worth go to crossfire right now, the people might buy a single HD4500 or HD4870 now and wait to mature their profiles, lower the price as the supply demand may be high this time and then invest on a Multi GPU form. It is good to see ATI came back nicely, now the perfect hardware is just on hold until November, Intel chipset + Nehalem + crossfire = Xtreme performance and that is there all to it.

ummm idk if your read that review right but the games where cf 4870's dont scale well are games that dont support multi-GPU well, look at the massive scaling on COD4...i dont see how you can say that more new games wont be better optimized to the multi-gpu as the market heads in that direction (assuming nvidia doesnt drop the 280 down to 200$ so that it doesn't get ruined in price/performance ratio by 2 4850's)

Wow, looking at how ATi basically modified or updated nearly EVERY component of R600 as well as the basic organization of RV770, calling it just a refresh is a disservice... amazing
