3.6-3.8ghz?
3.6-3.8ghz?
Yeah. I've got it at 3.6 right now on 1.36v.
It can do 3.7 on 1.42v
I haven't gone too much higher than that because the dividers get screwy on my RAM and I end up losing bandwidth.

think the Q6700 is worth the ~ 35 euro premium?
Guys, what are your northbridge voltages set at? I'm at 1.5v and wondering if I can push it up to 1.55v-1.6v

[QUOTE=extremis;2941667]Jor3lBR, hehe... I have been dreaming of this for a while. Now I can have some real fun.
I think the Fry's in Houston (south) has 4 more in stock if anyone wants a good batch.
So, I was able to overclock to 3.2 with the stock heatsink and fan. I have a WC setup that I will be applying once my new motherboard tray for my case shows up.
Extremis,
I am close to Houston. Where is the south Houston Frys located. I know the one on I-45 north ?

FWIW, I am at 1.55v on NB and run 63C to 65C NB temps on OCCT RAM or Prime 95 Blend at ambient of 22C-23C. No fans on NB just stock cooling. ASUS Blitz formula

Thanks for the feedback Gen & Khamo. I was able to bump my Vcore down from 1.45v to 1.4375v in the bios. With Vdroop CPU-Z shows 1.42v with drops downt to 1.38v. I think I have my northbridge set at 1.525v in my bios. I upped my VTT or FSB voltage to 1.425v. It passed Super Pi 32M and 3DMark06 without any problems. I do not waste much time with Prime95 (overkill)anymore. I think 32M of Pi is plenty stable.
Anybody have any limits on what the FSB voltage should top out at? My MSI board has slightly less elaborate heatpipe cooling than the Platinum P35 but I think the results are about equal minus a few extras like firewire and SPDIF.
Can the Q6600's with 1.2VID's go to 4Ghz on air?

Could also be that the Q6600 was way more popular due to the better price... in those days... If you get a good batch it will clock in the same region as the q6600... but like I mentioned in other threads aswell peeps think it clock better as it has a higher multi... on air or water that's for sure a no no![]()

Right, NBF. The NB volts are dependent on memory size/speed, DIMM config, and FSB. I am running 1gbX4 that needs > 2gbX2>1 gbX2. And yes we may be running higher volts then the minium required. ( My FSB 1.44, NB 1.55 vDIMM 1.98) Just the hassle of testing and retesting for as low as possible. Depends howmuch playtime you have. If the temps are reasonable and OC is rock stable I tend to not mess with it.

I would go for option two... low Vid doesn't necesarrily reflect in better Mhz numbers... also weird but most low vids have high temps... a good batch does high speeds at low voltages and if possible cool temps too
Well 780i did 450 FSB too with my 45nm duals/quads , didn't test the the Q6600 on it... but indeed you can get easier to eg 3.6ghz with a 10 multi but bandwith and co takes a blow... better go 400FSB with 9 multi then or 425 with 9 over 380 x 10...

Did an easy 450 FSB with my Q6600very happy about that.
Did notice the big increase in bandwidth going from 9x400 to 8x450.
However I have a big problem, running same settings (except using a quad now) on my 780i as my 680i I used to get 45ns latency with these ram settings, but on the 780i im getting a whoping 70ns, even though my timings are same as other board. Even my read/write and copy bandwidths are way out.
Very annoying. Especially when all manual timings.
I had some free time today morning and did some testing to see if my Q6600 can do 3.8Ghz. While at 3.6@1.39v is prime stable, when i prime it at 9x425 (3.825) even at 1.48v (1.5v in bios) i get a bsod and an immidiate restart. Is this normal? I didnt try it any higher cause i dont know if more than 1.5v real is safe for 24/7 use.
