Yes, I worked my way up : / and set optimized defaults like you said... Sorry richard i thought the timings I gave might be able to help you but I didn't know how much you were clocking it.. Just play around with them, it shouldn't take too much time .

I tried the 2.66B/D straps....for 1133MHz memory, set 2.1V in bios for memory, she crashed and burned....lol, won't boot into Windows. I'm pretty sure i'll never get the memory that high, but i do think 1080MHz is realistic.

You need alot more vMEM for that. Probably around 2.3V

2.66B/D are the worst performing straps on these boards,- and also the ones that dont allow the best TRD settings. There is a very precise mathematical formula that tells you exactly what TRD will work at any strap with any FSB. The lower your FSB (down to 333), the better your memory will perform in most cases. This is why you want an unlocked cpu so you can run 400mhz FSB with TRD 5 and 3.00A strap, and a cpu multiplier of 11 for 4.4ghz.

Go with the A-straps, or 2.4B if none of the A's fit. Then find the lowest possible TRD (usually 7 for 450mhz FSB and 2.5A). Most of the other memory settings have minimal impact on the system. Its all about Performance Enhance, Strap and most importantly TRD.

The 8-series bios'es for the regular dq6 had alot of stability issues. These seem to have been fixed in 9-series.

1.54V is not too high for a G0 chip, they can deal with 1.6v on decent air. As long as you dont run high 80's C under load youre fine.

There's no real life performance increase to be gained from increasing the PCI-X clock+voltage, leave it at 100mhz where it belongs.

Most of you guys should be able to get 10k+ in Everest with sub 50ns latency at 24/7 OCCT stable settings. The reason you arent at the moment is that you dont seem to realize what settings actually affect performance. Trial and error isnt supposed to be THIS hard guys

I think we've covered all of this atleast 3 or 4 times allready in this thread. There really isnt alot of new info to get out of this thread anymore. Have fun guys, im off.

Your a dork, 1.6v is fine with air,, yah listen to him,, I say I come over your house and give me ten minutes tops and I will have it stable at 3.6Ghz~

1100 was the hightest i was able to get with PC8000, but it was very unstable. 1080 was the best freq/timing ratio possible. you should stick with that

Something i wanna point out, and query....i have to set timings manually to 5-5-5-15 because if i don't and leave them at Auto when i boot into Windows i find the timings are set at 5-7-7-20?

Why is that?...this only happens though if i set Preformance Enhance to "Turbo" mode, Standard sets the timings to SPD and 5-5-5-15...weird.

This article at AnandTech, http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3190&p=13, says that for a quad, the FSB Overvoltage Control will require the max setting. Also there's an undervoltage of 0.2V from the BIOS set overvoltage. Anyone knows this is true and if this applies to EX38-DS4 boards as well?

Ya Koc, the temperature doesnt read right with core temp with the 45nm CPUs. There is a new program called Realtemp that gives the right temperature. I dont have a link but its on this site somewhere...i think the link is in this thread too about your problem.

What new bios options? Hopefully they fixed the pci e bug where when you turn the pci express up any you lose your raid config, which I fell a victom to like 10 times before I figured it out.
