What processor and speed would unleash the 3870x2?
Does 3870 in xFire benefit from a Quad over Dual or is there no difference?
If Quad is beneficial, why?
I want to get new 45nm chip to aid my xFire rig.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread, I think other people would also like to know this question.
It would be a waisted of money to get this cand and just suffocate it via the CPU.
Thanks, D!

will benefit only if games support 4cores, so atm only supreme commander.
as for power : 3ghz c2d/x2 should be enough, but well, depends on game.
in crysis 2ghz c2d is more then enough with other games you maybe want 4ghz.
but 3ghz should be playable at any case.
System : E6600 @ 3150mhz, Gigabyte DS3, 4gb Infineon 667mhz, Amd-Ati X1900XT

All you need is a small crocodile clip, just short the two pins together.
