I replaced the original LL fans throughout my case with Scythe Flex units. It's just a hair noisier but case and hdd temps dropped 2-3 C. Believe it or not, the noisiest component in my system is the Corsair ram cooler. Occasionally it makes a high-pitched that grates on my ears. I may replace it with the OCZ cooler.

I'm still deciding what BIOS to use (I posted a poll on this). Seems like 0903 is going back and forth as far as being all that stable. I think I may go with 0802.
ok... of course will always be a question of noise x air pressure.. im currently not going for 120mm fans higher than 1600rpm.

lot of people gere say bad things about the corsair ram cooler build quality. one guy even had to insert a drop of machine iol on it to quiet the fan down because of poor casing/fan spin axis quality. if youre using gtx/2900 class board the ocz ram cooler it will closely touch the back of the board, but you might tape it to isolate. It is huge, and will steal some air from push/pull cpu air but by far much better quality.

im using 0903 still, no real issues but hoping asus will give us a new one for christmas before dumping development for the formula.

i peeked in most other x38 boards users posts, we sometimes complain about the formula, but most of them have bigger problems on bios settings than we do.
