Wow, niiiice. Wonder if I'm overpaying at about $253 per card USD here (PNY) . Oh well, I can change it at any time with the way I ordered it with them .

So I'm thinking of a pair of Arctic Cooling Accelero-X1's for these cards... the mounting should be the same, and the RAM placement... plus they're pretty inexpensive at around $15 each. Performance was around the same as the stock 7900GTX cooler per FiringSquad, to boot. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Ordered em, and thanks for this post:

    Helped a lot .

EDIT2: Cancelling the Accelero's due to not being sure about the mounting, probably going to go for a Thermaltake CL-G0080 , looks just like the older NV silencers did, is dual-slot, and exhausts out the back of the case.

One of these should fit well into my HTPC box if power draw/heat/noise is acceptable, I wonder what ATI have (I dont think they have anything) that competes in games with the decode features ??

Hi, it is still on NDA that means they can not put a Pre-order button yet. They have written will be readily available next week with prices ranged for a GT 8800 512MB to £150 to £170 VAT included.

    I hope this info helps.

I don't know, but I just found them for $233 each on a good-enough site (ordering 2 of them from Onsale.com which is a sub-company of pc/macmall)... actually going to cancel my Excaliber order as it's so much cheaper (good $40 savings with overnight shipping even! vs. ground and higher price at Excal ) and place it there with overnight shipping. Plus, by going through the FatWallet.com site, I'll get another $9.50 as a check in about a month back on the purchase too. I sincerely doubt even Newegg will be able to beat that price, and this way I don't have to snipe 2 of them off of there, possibly even missing it entirely.

I'm contemplating getting an 8800GT...since i need a new videocard and dunno if ATI is gonna release another crap card.

Anyway, I called onsale.com to check the status (since website says to call, cause it's not in stock)... and the sales person i spoke to said they had no idea when they'd get them in... asked me if i wanted to leave my phone number. I declined and said i'd just check back on the website periodically.

Just giving you a heads up before you place orders/cancel them at a million sites

edit: i placed an order with them.. i hate being a compulsive buyer, just wanting to buy stuff lol

I called onsale up and spoke to the warehouse manager.
They have zero idea on how many they will be getting in shipment and the website does not have an accurate count to tell you if you will be getting one or if it's on backorder.
There ratings on resellerratings aren't bad, but I hate dealing with companies that do restock fees, especially when the products are on backorder and they have no idea when they are getting new shipments in..

Wow, thanks! I was going to preorder one from excaliber but their shipping costs threw me off (come on, $50 for overnight? ).

Hopefully onsale.com will get them right away when they come out.

You should try FuturePowerPC. Currently lowest price on Froogle and is located in CT, so no tax for CA residents . Most people that shop there agree its fine.

I'm a little scared of waiting for something that will [probably] have a high demand. The prices might go through the roof, like with the 2900PROs. At first they were available for $250 but couple days after the prices went up to $280. By the end of the 2900PRO "train" they prices were around $300 (ncix.com, anyone?).

I wouldn't be too worried about prices, these are NEW 65nm cards that are going to be massproduced for a while to come, not some leftover need-to-be-sold R600 cards.

At least until next highend 65nm series arrives the availability should be good, as I'm sure NVIDIA's expecting this card to bring the biggest income for a period until those new highend series is launched and it would be stupid to produce a card that should sell like bread & butter in low quantities.
