experiments in water cooling a mach/vapo

I have a question, havent read the whole thread so it might have been answered but it doesnt seem like it has. This doesn't seem very efficient in terms of noise reduction. All you are doing is transferring the heat from the condenser to a radiator. You still have all the heat needing to be removed and therefore still require the same fan setup on the radiator as you would on the condenser. Now with such a massive rain barrel as a res of course you wouldnt need any fan as it would take days for that thing to heat up and become inefficient, which probably wouldnt even happen as it would get passivly cooled outdoors anyway. So practially speaking, this is no better then an air cooled condenser correct? practically speaking that is, as in no giant res.
