sofar everthing is running okay, but noticed that mij Cpu and MB
temperatures dropped significantly to Idle 32 Cpu and 34 d.c. MB.
core temps 43 and 46.
is this realistic, with the previous Bios 11, temp indication

tested the core temps with "Core Temp" and these are in line
with the current Everest readings.

Looks like you have a bad CPU for overclocking, thats all. Not all Q6600 clock equal, it's still a chanse you'll get a poor one.
Know a guy who had no chance getting his Q6600 stable at 3.0ghz, no matter what he gave it in volts.....
My Q6600 does 3.33ghz 370x9 on 1.36v (read in everest) on a DQ6 P965 Rev. 1.0. The most annoying thing about my rev. 1.0 is the huge undervoltage and vdroop witch is way more on a quad then a dualcore....
The best you can do now is to make sure nothing else is holding your overclock back, like you RAM....

hi guys,
a quick one. just updated the bios on my DQ6 rev 1.0 from F11 to F12c BETA.
CPU temps according to the board have gone down by 10C (42-44C. Core Temp is still showing 52-54C) Also, it seems that after the update, I am unable to run SuperPI.
Anyone had the same prob? My CPU is an E6600

hi,
im thinking to do RAID0 (250gb x 2) with this board
my only question is , this board support RAID0 via Hardware, or only Software?
I am feeling a little stupid, but I am trying to OC my DQ6 rev1 using the F11 BIOS and I can't seem to find a place in the F11 BIOS to adjust the memory timings. Am I just blind? There is an entry to us 2 different "modes" on the memory, but it's just like a mode1/mode2 thing, not a "auto by SPD vs. manual" thing.
Is there a place in the F11 to do this?

hi
i was trying do setup a RAID0 in my computer with Windows Vista (32 bit)
so after configure de bios etc, booting de vista DVD etc, load de drivers from my pen disc(..), I select de Disc to install the OS , and it starts installing
after about 2 minutes it gaves me a error saying
"Insert Windows installation disc 1"
which is very stupid since Vista is only 1 DVD and not 2/more
already burned a new dvd and the same thing
i think this should be happening because of the raid .. but i really dont know how to solve it..
i tried do google it but no answers found
anyone know it?
P.S
my system:
Gigabyte DS3 1.0 Bios: F12
Raid0 : Hitachi 80GB sataII x 2 (total of 160GB)
Hey, I recently began getting cold boot issues with my system.
I had bios F11, so I decided to try F12, but the issues didn't go away.
Basically, from a cold boot, my system just hangs when I press the power button. I have to leave it like that for a couple of minutes, then reboot it and reset my overclock settings. After that it boots fine and runs flawlessly with my overclock.
So...anyone have any ideas how to resolve this issue? Or maybe a particular bios that doesn't have it?
Thanks.

Yeah, basically the GB 965 has cold boot issues. I've found that the board will boot fine at about 360FSB then using ET5 you crank it up in Windows. Alternatively, you can let the board reset its self, then load the bios and change your settings to something higher like 400+ FSB. Nine times out of ten the board will boot fine from the BIOS since it's not "cold" anymore. That seems to be an "ok" work around but still, if you use a RAID setup you could risk corrupting the set. All those reboots are not RAID friendly and my containers would eventually corrupt. So that's the reason I chose to boot at ~360 and turn it up to 437 using easy tune 5 in winXP.
Problem is I don't use Windows anymore so my gigabyte 965P-DQ6 is eventually going to be an expensive HTPC. I hear the DFI P35 has a boot up speed setting in the BIOS. I'm looking forward to testing that out since I'm sick and tired of the cold boot issue. Also, the BLOOD IRON board is really cheap and should offer slightly better performance than the GB 965 board. Oh yeah and no cold boot issues I hope.
Hope this info helps!

How high did you guys get with your S3's?
Think it will do more than 400 fsb?
Is 2.4V max mem voltage? Need some more :P Got the F8 bios right now, more voltage in newer bios maby?.. (Didn't find anything on Gigabytes web though)
Long time reader first time poster.
Hi guys I have the GA-P35-DQ6 board and I love it for how COOL the PWM runs under load 1.58 Vcore. Though I've replaced the thermal pads with AS5 on NB and Ceramique on PWM area and SB.
It holds my Q6600 G0 overclock at 3.75GHz pretty nicely.
But as you all know this board has one BIG problem with PCI-E X16 port falling back to x1 randomly. I have tried upping the PCI-E Voltage up to +0.3 and setting PCI-E Frerq. between 100-115.
No matter what setting I choose it falls back to X1 after a reboot or changing the boot device in bios and 99% of the times I have to power down the system and literally pull out the graphics card and reseat it to get the full X16 bandwidth back again.
Anyone out there knows precisely how to tackle this problem?
Here is more info on my system/setting:
P35-DQ6 rev1.0 BIOS F5
Q6600G0
VCore1.587
VDimm +.35
PCI-E V:Tried +.05 up to +.3
FSB V: 0.35
MCH V: +0.3
417x9
I am pulling my hair out here.I just want to stick with P35-DQ6 if possible (for as long as I can resist the urge to buy an I35 pro) as imo it has the coolest running cpu voltage components among all P35 boards wich I value more than the flaws it has like the lack of tRC setting for memory tweaking and non working EIST.
Any thoughts? Although I have tried different bios settings to tackle the PCI-E X1 issue before I am keeping my mind open and willing to start over if someone has any suggestions.
Thank you.
Oh snap seems like it would have fitted the other Gigabyte thread better.

Hi guys, I need help. My onboard Sound started stuttering/clicking/cracking while playing any kind of music files or games. Streaming movies/news of the web-same thing. But movies from hard drive run just fine. H got the 965P-DS3. Reinstalled vista few days ago and tried every possible driver, at least 20 of them now and problem persists. I really need to fix this cause can't play any games or listen to any sound! Can someone who has original cd maybe send me original drivers for sound(i don't have cd) Any thing else Im ready to try cause i've spent a week searching the web and no luck whatso ever.
